Using Dignicap

Has anyone here with triple-negative breast cancer used the Dignicap to try to preserve your hair? Sounds like results aren't great with my regimen so don't know if it's worth the try. I really value keeping my hair but want to make a logical decision.

My regimen is Adriamycin & Cyclophosphamide followed by Paclitaxel.

Sonia, I did not use the cap, I did lose my hair. This did not bother me, I found my hair one less thing to worry about. It was very liberating. I know this is not your queston, but if I had it to do all over again, I would consider the ice for my feet before I would my hair...I have some permanent neuropathy in my toes, Taxol Toes as we say. that I wish I did not have. If icing my feet could have prevented this, I would do it. Hoping others respond soon with answers to your question. Hang in there, and my best wishes to you during chemo.

Is used gel caps and lost less than 40% of my hair. Worth the money and time for me.

Hi Vicky...thank you. Glad to hear a good report. Can you tell me what shampoo you used? Thanks! (And, I see you are from Madison, AL - I grew up in Decatur!)

I'm also a triple negative breast cancer patient and my regimen was the same (Adriamycin & Cyclophosphamide followed by Paclitaxel). I used a device similar to the dignicap and it worked very well. I lost a lot of hair but kept enough to not need a wig and I think no one really noticed I was ill. The hair may not be the more important thing but it allowed me to feel better and to maintain my privacy.

Hi: I am thinking about doing the same. There is a thread on here for cold cap users, called cold cap users past and present, under managing side effects. It has tons of information.

Thank you - good to hear that report. I had my first chemo today and used the cap so we will see!
