Skin Punch Biopsy
Hi Ladies!
I had a skin punch biopsy on an area of redness today on my breast. I don't know what happened but I bled through the entire big piece of gauze and already had to change the bandage! Has this happened to anyone else? I called the doctor and she said to apply pressure. When I went to change the bandage it looked like a clot was forming and didn't bleed (blood was very dark) so I guess that's good! I will know the results in 3-5 days - the waiting game is hard :

As I have said before - I am IBC and I did not have any 'redness/rash' that could have been biopsied via a Skin Punch.
I've had Skin Punch Biopsies on my arm, face and neck for BCC (Basal Cell Carcinoma) and SCC (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) but never any on my breast. All that was ever used to cover them was a regular bandaid like would be put on a small cut anywhere. Took them off when I got home - no bleeding at all except ror a small spot from when they had been put on. Not all done at the same time either. We're all so different!

I wouldn't say I've had a lot of biopsies.
I've spent a LOT of time outdoors so my skin has been abused. There was no 'sunscreen' when I was young. Also I have VERY light skin (one Dr nicknamed me 'Casper') though do tan 'good'. The first SPBs were years before IBC and were not skin cancer. Then came the FNBs for IBC. Since then I have had several SPBs for skin issues - some were SCC and a BCC. So the only biopsies I've had were for possible skin cancer issues and my IBC which showed no skin issues. None of the path. reports ever linked the types together.
I've been fortunate to have a great Dermatology PA who is really proactive. Saw her last week and no skin issues seen then. So will see her in 6 mths unless I feel I need to.
