Tamoxifen and weight loss medicine

Options

Hi to everyone

This is my first post. In November 2014 I was diagnosed with triple negative BC. After chemotherapy and a right masectomy I thought that would be it (as there are no targeted therapies for TNBC), however after not having a complete response to chemo (10% of tumour remained) the pathology found 2% Estrogen - so..I was given Tamoxifen.

I have been taking tamoxifen for nearly 2 years and along with some other side effects, I´m having real trouble maintaining a normal weight. No matter how much exercise or how healthy my diet is, the weight just keeps piling on. I exercise a lot and I eat very little, what I do eat is healthy - no sugar etc. So far I am 15 kilos (34 pounds) more than before I started this wonderful journey!

I am considering taking a weight loss medicine such as XLS medical but I´m unsure if this is ok ? Does anyone have any advice on this? Any guidance would be really appreciated.

Thanks everyone

Hi, I'm new here as well. Had a bone density scan done last week to see if I can tolerate Femara. In the mean time I've been attempting to alkalize and lose weight. Managed to lose 20 lbs since December, due to lack of appetite and being diagnosed with recurrence, and can safely lose another twenty. The supplement I take initiates ketosis <sp> as ketogenic diet is anti-cancer.

soo...i have gained 40lbs on tamoxifen. I just visited a medical weight loss clinic today for an evaluation. I was told that we.cpuld not use belvique or contrave. It interacts with tamoxifen. We can take fentamine, but not if you are on effexor or have a history of kidney stones. There is one more whose name I can't remember which is a daily injection with crazy side effects, and off label use of metformin. So options are limited...
