So I received some news yesterday that my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. As distraught that I am, my siblings sent me a copy of I guess the pathology report? I have no idea how to interpret this. I have tried searching around for some of these terms and was wondering if anyone here might be able to lend an eye on what this all means etc...

Exam # 1 - US-US Vacuum needle breast biopsy (right)

Exam # 2 - US - Biopsy of Lymph Node (right)

Exam # 3 - Mammo -clip placement (right)

Addendum:

1) Pathology for the solid mass in right breast at 3 o clock position. 5 cm from nipple, shows invasive ductal carcinoma. Dcis was also present. NO calcifications or lymphovascular invasion was seen.

2) Pathology results for the solid mass in the right breast at 10 o clock position. 7 cm from nipple, showed moderately differentiated Adenocarcinoma with similar histology to the primary breast lesion at 3 o clock.

I know this is all very confusing right now for your family. This looks like the beginning of a pathology report to me. There should be more to come that will give her and her doctors more information about what characteristics her BC has that will help guide treatment options. That is what I can tell you for now. Hugs to you and your grandmother. The waiting around for more answers might just be the hardest part.
