I have been getting Botox injections to prevent migraines for several years now. With chemo coming up soon, I wondered if anyone continued their injections during treatment?

I stopped mine during chemo. I didn't even ask my MO about it, I just assumed it was somewhat risky with my immune system being depressed. And I didn't feel like getting stuck or having more Dr appts. Honestly for me it was the least of my concerns on my appearance during chemo. :)

I continued over 2.5 years on chemo with excellent results. In the last 4 months I have had trouble with drooping of my right eyelid and a weird unable to control twitching with complete closing of the lid.

I was on 2 different steroid eye drops at the time after Retinal Surgery. My pain Doc has elected to do no injections close to eyebrows or upper hairline. Continued around ears, occipital and upper neck.

The problem has receded slowly. Not sure if the Botox was to blame, or the steroid eyedrops which list drooping of lid as side effect.

Hate to lose the Botox, it worked wonderfully for the migraines

I was wondering about Botox...if it was safe to use period? Could this have contributed to cancer diagnosis? Of course, I never got an answer from the surgeon...and I never asked my oncologist at that point. And no one knows...really. You just don't know for sure what contributes to it and it's likely a combination of things. I have been using botox every 4 months for at least 5 years. Up til my BC diagnosis. I'm leary about everything now... you rethink everything you do... what is good...what isn't.

    Hi Drained6513

I am in the same situation where I receive Botox injections to stop chronic migraines and I have now started chemo. I am interested to know if you continued your Botox injections? I am really not looking forward to the migraines returning if I have to stop Botox.

My oncologist doesn't think it will be an issue, but hasn't had another patient use Botox before.
