Zoladex belly: how long before I come back normal?
hi all,
I'd been on monthly Zoladex shots till last month and the last 6 months developed a pregnancy-like belly. It doesn't look at all like fat belly. Not yet had my first period after Zoladex, yet. Can anyone with similar experience tell what to expect? Seriously need input, planning my new wardrobe
Hugs

oh come on! I can't be alone in this??

Hi Ebru,
I haven't dealt with anything like that yet, and not to scare you but that sounds like what many women describe when they develop ascites....had any scans lately to rule that out? Or maybe the other meds are postponing your period so residual bloating? Sorry I can't be of more help......

My dear StageFree.
I haven't been on that drug, much less left it behind, so no intel to offer. Just sending you my best thoughts.... you must be off to the countryside soon. You are so very happy there. How is your little guy doing?

thank you both
I got a lovely pm explaining the matter, seems like it's because of Zoladex, though I will be having a MRI in case, this week.
Susan, my chemo schedule isn't yet clear.. we need to see if Navy is in fact working. MO will decide in two weeks. I may move onto Gemzar. If so, then will stay in Istanbul mostly.
He's grown, twelve now. I am so happy to spend each sec with him, though we're like cats and dogs now that he hit puberty
Oh well, Xeloda life was so good to be teue, a bit of chaos in treatment doesn't shake me.. TM's back to 3000 :₺))) who looks at them, still feel ok
Love to all

Ebru, I haven't specifically had an issue isolated to the belly, but both times when I went off hormone therapy, I quickly gained 6-10 pounds due to an estrogen "surge", as my MO called it. It happened on tamoxifen when I was premenopausal and even on aromsain/faslodex after I had my ovaries removed. I have an easier time maintaining my weight when estrogen is shut down. In both cases, I was able to clamor back to my normal weight within 6 months.

hi JFL,
Thanx for the response. I showed Dh my belly last night and he agreed there's a slight difference to what it was a month ago, I was 6 month pregnant looking. I don't care how I look, it's just that being so bloated Has much impact on my physical activity.
Weird, I have a wardrobe of clothes ranging from 2-16 now
quit getting rid of stuff as my size changes each day ha ha

Dearest Ebru, I am so sorry you have a swollen belly and hope the cause will be found soon. Please ensure that your abdomen and pelvic area are checked for fluid as well as a blockage. I've never heard of Zoladex causing abdominal swelling nor is it listed as a side effect of the medication.
I hope that the cause is found and that you get back to your normal size soon!

dear Anne,
Thnx as always you are soo thoughtful and considerare. I am blessed to have you as my friend. This weekend I have a MRI, hope to give good news soon👍🏼

Dearest Ebru, You are in my prayers nightly, and have been for years. I wish for you that your medical team will find an answer to this puzzle, that it will be easy to remedy, and that you will soon be back to your usual self!
Wouldn't it be wonderful if it were merely gas? : )
Sending you warm hugs and good wishes!

I have read that a lot of people have bloating with Zoladex. I too have issues with it. Bloating is a symptom of menopause and Zoladex shuts down your ovaries and essentially puts you into menopause. I will go through periods of bad bloating and some days I will wake up with a flat stomach and by the afternoon, I have a big belly and am very bloated.

Hi all,
Today I have detailed MRI, hope to receive the answers soon. Meanwhile I shunk to half, thank God! I returned all new large tişörts I ordered online yesterday
Good to still fit to old clothes!
Hugs
Ebru
