Lisey, she's in Ontario and is covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Canada has a public health system, where everyone has full coverage, regardless of medical history. No premiums or co-pays, as it's funded by tax revenues.

    Hey ladies:

I am going to sit down with a genetic counsellor and talk it over before I go ahead with the actual blood test. If the genetic testing will benefit me clinically/medically, then I will do it. By medically, I mean I will be followed up more closely for other cancers. As far as BC is concerned, I have already had bilateral mastectomies and oophorectomy so I do not know I can be screened more closely when I will not get mammograms or MRIs anymore. And my family members are already been screened more frequently for breast cancer, so I don't really see how they will benefit practically. Genetic counselling will help. Thanks again ladies for your support and help.

Downdog: thanks for the info. I did hear about Bill S-201. Its good news. I have been turned down for life insurance already when I applied a few years back. I do get group insurance through work though. This Bill will help with confidentiality and reducing the risk of discrimination for employment or being approved for mortgages or critical illness insurance which is great. If I do decide to get the genetic testing, I will wait until this Bill has passed.

    Hey ladies:

I finally saw my GP today. He put me on antidepressants and Ativan. I am so relieved because I am starting to have panic attacks.

Now, I will be able to sleep I bet..

I have surgery on Wednesday for fat grafting. Day surgery. Supposedly minor surgery. I got the Ativan just in time.

    Hey ladies:

I saw my MO today. My oncotype Dx score is 14. No chemo for me.

I was put on Arimidex. Next followup 3 months.

I am seeing the end of this road. Now I need to go back to work.

Hi, Wallan - that's all great news! I'm very glad you got some medication to help you through the last few days, especially. And scoring a 14 must have been a huge relief. I bet you'll sleep like a baby tonight!
