Hi Triple Neg Sisters!

Never tht I'd be here! What a shock last year! I've had the surgery and now chemo and currently doing radation. No one really sat me down and told me my diagnosis. Handled the above quite well and kept working. Bit sore in the legs and haven't been able to exert myself walking but on the mend.

I've been told I have a 2.6 percent of this coming back and they would put me on pills. Medical oncologist said " oh no pills for you." Also told with this stage I'd have more change of getting hit by a bus. Felt like slapping his face! I think there are so many people going through they get you mixed up!

I had a second option he said if Braca -mastectomy (all neg on that front and other) and it if came back- mastectomy. He said for me not needed at the moment but it is OK as women make the choice. This lot say "oh well we'd go through it all again" ... I'm quite confused as many nurses/women state to have the operation. Who wants to wait till this comes back and how do they know with a 6 mth check what can happen being triple negative. Even after a five year clearance it seems to come back years later. Not that I want to have the operatation but if so it would be a Silicon implants strait away.

What are the Triple Negitave Ladies thoughts on this.....

JulieC, I'm a bit confused. Your stats say that you were HER2 +, but you also say you are TN? that doesn't fit together as ER-, PR- and HER2- are the trio. Did I miss something?

I'm also a bit confused as to taking AC+T for DCIS? We don't do that here in the USA. Is that typical in Australia?

    Dear JulieC64,

We are also a bit confused as to your situation. In general this is a thread for Information and Announcements and we don't suggest that members post here but before we re-direct you to a more appropriate forum and thread we just want to make sure of your breast cancer type. You can pm the mods or let us know here and we can move your post to a thread where you can get appropriate information for you cancer. There is a thread for those who are ER-PR- Her2 +. Let us know if we can be of help. It can be confusing getting started here. The Mods

    Hi

Confused yes so am I! Correct I changed the diagnoses. Yes TN. AC and T? They do the lumpectomy here, then the chemo then the radation in that order. Then I'm told monitor 3/6 mths. State go through it all again if it comes back. But second option said mastectomy if it came back. No one give you any stats.
