Hi all, my nipple sparing BMX is scheduled around mid May, which will be more than 6 weeks out from my last DD chemo. I am worried about the cancer will relapse and go back to the nodes during this gap, but the surgeon doesn't seem concerned about it. Do you have similar expereince?

Thanks!

My understanding is that it is ok.

To be frank I did AC/Taxol and it does take a toll on you.

I would have been concerned if you were waiting more than 4 weeks with a primary tumour and no chemo, but I am getting from other posts that lots of women do that because of various testing ( I personally remain unsure of that strategy). But with chemo on board you need the first 2-4 weeks to recover in terms of hemoglobin and mature WCC. A BMX carries the risk of infection, hematoma and seroma as probably the most common complications so normalizing your blood count is important.
