WORRIED ABOUT BONE METS or spine? Or overreactiing
HI, I was diagnosed with breast ca in Nov 2015. Had left lumpectomy was a stage 1 invasive ductal, ER PR neg, her2 pos GRADE 3. Finished chemo last May 2016, radiation 6 weeks ended in July 2016. Finished herceptin in February of this year.
I have developed what we think is neuropathy mostly in hands especially at night, numbness tingling. I have also had tingling to the right of my spine before and after chemo. But something new is my left lower back has started tingling. And it seems to be positional. If I don't change my position, it will draw up or knot up. When I change the position, it stops. I've also been having upper back pain between my shoulder blade and spine. I have had that before but it usually doesn't stick around long. The lower back concerns me.
Of course I'm worried about Mets, no one else seems to understand.
I did find a CT of the abdomen and pelvis from last year that they had noted that I have mild levoscoliosis with biomechanical degenerative disc changes. I am so hoping this will be the cause for the tingling and pain. Does anyone here have any input ? I am worried sick. Some pain may be from the tension of worrying also

Hi Tam, I have similar pain in my shoulder blade area. Right side only. I do follow PT and get deep tissue massage. I also get shots of cortisone in the area from my neurologist. That helps the most. If you're concerned about the pain, you should report to your Onco. Certainly a bone scan is not expensive and tells a lot. If you haven't tried the tx I am having, I total suggest it. Its been a big relief.

I think a new symptom like that warrants a call to your MO. Perhaps he can do a bone scan or send you for a neurology evaluation. I hope you get benign answers

hi y'all. I had an MRI of the spine which showed no cancer ! But a long list of scoliosis, spondylitis, degenerative disc disease, bulging discs and nerve impingment. Happy about the no cancer, see neurosurgeon Monday and have a BONE scan on Thursday. Keeping fingers crossed 😊👆

Those are some challenging diagnoses but better than metastatic disease! Now you have some other issues/options to investigate, hopefully with good results. Do something nice for yourself this weekend...
