How to look professional while bra less?

I go back to work next week and was all ready to pop my Knitted Knocker in my bra and go! Now my surgeon says no bra for 2 more weeks. As a 59 y/o with a droopy C cup on the left and flat on the right, how do I dress? To complicate matters, it's going to be 80 degrees outside, so thick layers won't work. Would love advice from anyone who has gone through this!

Cse70, it's going to be fine. Two weeks is totally do-able. Don't run out and buy a boatload of clothes just for this--my suggestion is a package of men's cotton undershirts, the kind with narrow shoulder straps, not the T-shirt kind. If you buy a size that's a bit tight, it will help hold the remaining breast close to your body. Then wear something loose on top, like a swingy tunic in a dark color or a busy print.

And then...forget it. No one will notice, and if they do, they won't care. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

I had one reconstructed side, with a pretty substantially sized implant, and a flat side due to loss of the implant. I had to wait a period of time before I could wear a prosthetic on that side, but found that patterned or ruffled fabric was a good camouflage, and that light weight gauzyscarves looped around my neck helped cover but still looked cute.

    thank you special K

I have been wearing moms scarves(she is 20 plus ovarian and 10 yr BC survivor) ordered a few more from Amazon. You just reminded me of bringing a couple of clothing for bra fitting

Ditto what others have said Loose and long tunics and I get camisoles from Kohls or target   And scarves in all sorts of fashions  I am a long term 5+ years uniboober.  Seldom wore a bra prior to my MX, so reluctant to do so now just to be even.  I have spent the $ on a couple of more expensive tunic style tops from Soft Surroundings catalog, stores and online.  I get lots of compliments - they are a bit different and camoflauge the lopsideness

You will figure out your new comfort zone!

Thanks to all of you for your ideas! I think part of my problem is with my previous dx in 2005, I got to keep the boob and treated "the girls" with new Victoria Secret bras. Now i have to deal with what I call an "innie and an outie"

I had to return braless to an office. I wore a lot of darker colored or thick enough polyester silky blouse tops. Black, navy, or patterned to hide and disguise the contours works well and to hide the angry red scars that took a while to fade. A statement necklace that's choker length or short to bring the eyes up works too. Some people wear scarves that fall over the chest area. A cape style jacket or poncho sweater works in fall or winter. It's difficult to put on a tank top or camisole that's tight, especialky over the head for a few weeks, so I'd avoid white or ivory blouses for a bit.

Buy your new items from consignment stores to save money. One of my favorites was thredup.com for that purpose, but there are lots of others! I still have those tops. On really hot humid days, I'll still go braless to work occasionally. No one seems to notice when i do that because where I wear little padding for foobs so I can keep the fake ones smaller too, As or Bs. I'm able to more easily switch between going flat or small chested this way!

    jkbrca2,

Thanks for your ideas. I did find out through trial and error that polkadot, dark tops hide alot!

Are you going to reconstruct? If not, there is a FB group, Flat & Fabulous, that's huge and really helpful for issues like this.
