No Info on path report

Hi everybody. I am very newly diagnosed. March 20 2017. My pathology report from the stereotactic biopsy showed ER+ PR- but no information at all about HER2 status. I recently had a consultation with the plastic surgeon who double checked the path report and said there was no info. I called my physician's office and again they say no info at all. I see the breast surgeon this Wednesday but should I know my HER2 status before surgery? It seems so from what I have read here. Thanks everybody. I am scared and trying to be my own best advocate.

    If you have pure DCIS it is very common not to test for Her2 since your treatment going forward is unaffected by Her2 status. If an invasive component is found in your removed tissue it would be tested for Her2 status at that time.
