Mammogram tech suspicious
I had my annual bilateral mammogram last week, I have the same technician almost every time for 7 years now. She visibly paused when looking at the computer screen, and then said "you know I can't say anything, but be sure to contact your doctor in 10 days, does your doctor always call for results? And have you had your past biopsy done at this hospital?" I believe she was looking at my left breast where I had the lumpectomy in 2010. Needless to say I'm terrified. Has anyone else gotten a 'heads up' like this? I also had a biopsy of the submandibular gland in my neck 3 days later. Very stressed right now

Not to freak you out, but my tech was quite sure that I had cancer during the mammogram that produced my cancer-positive results. My feeling is always that it is better to know than not to know. If I have a recurrence, I would want to catch it early before it becomes mets. ((hugs))

Thanks for replying, Elaine. You are right, it is better to know. Isn't waiting for results the worst? I had a bone scan in 2014 that was diagnosed as mets to the spine, turned out to be osteoarthritis! I don't have a good feeling about this mammogram. I never pictured it coming back in the same breast for some reason.

Call your doctor soon for results. The squeaky wheel does get attention. Hoping this is some benign scar tissue.

I called my doctor's office today, she was not in, and the receptionist knew she hadn't reviewed it yet. All the receptionist could tell me is that it is not negative, and there was a lot written on the report. I'm so anxious, it is so hard to wait for results. :

Hoping you get your results soon and can find out what's next. Hoping it is benign. Sorry for this stress

I am sorry you are going through this.
I always find the whole process of being scanned and having to call/wait for results extremely stressful.

Good news!
My mammogram results came back ok. There was more detail in this result than last year for some reason. It basically says due to scar tissue the mammogram is 'suboptimal' and if there are any clinical concerns an ultrasound could be booked, and to have another mammogram in one year. My dr considers this result fine.
Also my biopsy result of my submandibular gland is negative as well.
I am having an ultrasound tomorrow on my thyroid. I also will be booked for an MRI to see why the left half of my vocal cords are paralyzed. I'm still struggling with a sore throat, hoarse voice and ear pain daily. Anyone have experience with that

So glad the mammo was clear!!!
