New lump on non cancer side

Options

Hey there ladies! I am 18 months post my bilateral mastectomy and 3 months post free flap reconstruction. Two weeks ago I had my first revision. Yay!

But at my follow up with the oncologist, he found a pea size lump on the side of my left breast, my one that was prophylactic. He recommended going back to the breast surgeon and not removing the port even though its been a year since chemo.

I just so happened to have my follow up with the plastic surgeon and I expected him to say the lump was due to the surgery, maybe some kind of necrosis, since I have spots of necrosis from the reconstruction. He told me it was not in the flap. That it appears to be just underneath the skin.

Anyone with a similar story or lump? Breast surgeon on Monday. Just feel like I'm starting all over again.

Thanks for reading and any advice

Xo

How did your appointment go? Hoping they do imaging or a biopsy. Sorry you have this added stress

thank you so much for checking in! The breast surgeon sent me back for an ultrasound and MRI. The ultrasound showed a complex cyst. The radiologist said he is not concerned. I'm going with that!

I'm addressing a prophylactic side lump at the moment as well. Appt on Thurs to plan a biopsy. So glad to see that yours turned out to be a cyst. :)

how did your appointment go? My breast surgeon wants an MRI but is having trouble getting authorization and in the meantime I found an additional lump about three inches under it. Never ends! Hope your appointment went well!

Good morning! Heading out in about 20 minutes for an excisional biopsy. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for asking. I hope you get the MRI soon, for peace of mind.
