poodlelover,
How many mg is your Ativan? Mine is 1mg and it has worked. Restoril was also prescribed if Ativan didn't work
-
lordhelpmetoo - Ativan was .5mg and didn't do anything. Had second taxol txyesterday and took melatonin and Trazodone and slept 5 hours (better than 2 the night after first tx). Seems to resolve after about 3 days and then the melatonin alone is enough. Other than that though, no other SE's yet so feeling grateful!

Hi everyone decided I'd stop in and see how everyone is doing, hopefully well! I was 25 last year when I found this, currently I'm 26 and finally after a year of nothing due to medical negligence I'm finally getting things rolling. Had my first treatment yesterday, I'm getting dose dense AC followed by dose dense taxol so I got a long way to go but with a positive attitude and God besides me I know I can make it through. The whole treatment went surprisingly well, I was lucky to have a wonderful RN who was very compassionate and eager to answer any concerns I had, so I'm tremendously grateful for that, especially with it being my first round. I left feeling just as good as before the treatment but that was very short lived, within hours I was extremely nauseous and even the prescribed anti nausea meds weren't helpful, so I called the on call number and it happened to be my usual oncologist but he wasn't any help so I've been taking the nausea meds religiously every 6 hours but still not much help, hope this will let up soon as I wish I eat something more than crackers or dry cheerios, but the real kicker is for over a year I've been strickly sticking to water but can't even tolerate that at the moment but I shouldn't complain since I guess it could be worse. I just never taken any medication prior to this not even over the counter stuff so I think this is a placing a huge toll on my body going from nothing to 10 different medications all in one day especially through a port, thanks for giving me a place to vent it's nice to know you can all relate, I haven't been able to find a good support group where I live as of yet so this is really helpful. Praying for you all and hoping we'll all come out of this stronger and better than before or at least show cancer who's the boss, have a great Friday ladies, I look forward to hearing from you.

yes! I just ran a bit and jump roped/did higher intensity workout at about two weeks. I feel great!! So happy and thankful my first treatment went smoothly. Fingers crossed I can keep it up!!
-
good for you. I hope it goes smoothly for you!

Hi all,
I started losing my hair exactly 14 days after my first round. I did shave it till ~1cm long, but I never lost all my hair..it kinda stopped shedding before round 2. Now I'm on round 3, I still have some hair (almost like a minions...random strands here and there - is the best way to describe it), and it seems to be getting longer.
Has anyone else have that experience that they didn't lose all their hair? I've read that some ladies had permanet hair loss due to taxotere. I'm worried this is all I'm gonna have.....Minatabo

Hi Minatabo,
I experienced the hair loss in the same way that you did. Heavy shedding right before My second treatment and then it settled down with just a light fuzz all over my head. It seems to have settled down, for now. Lets see what treatment 3 and 4 bring. All over body hair is still present as well, though not as thick as it was previously , in some areas.
I Have heard of permanent hair loss, but I have also read more about people getting back hair. The only constant seems to be, it comes back different. Either curly, or thicker or straighter. No design or reason. Its a wait and see game.

Hello
I have a recurrence of BC after 20 years. Lymph nodes only thank goodness. Starting chemo Monday May 1 2017. I feel terrified. I was traumatized 20 years ago and am reliving all that again. Regimen will be 4 rounds of docetaxel & cyclophosphamide. Read up on full gamut from best case scenario to worst. I am 66 and have been an amateur athlete for the last 40+ years. Meditation yoga pilates running biking weight training. Eat pure, too. So am I pretty pissed right now. I have arthritis so have pain already l work around in order to keep fit. I feel pretty beat and l haven't started. Need a place to express the truth. Perhaps this is the right forum. I feel the 'brave face' and 'be strong' stuff is expected and I sure ain't feelin' it!!
Want to crawl in a hole. Do not want to go out without eyebrows/lashes. Don't have the drive to get through this that I had 20 years ago.
Does anyone resonate with my story?
Thanks for reading.
Michele

poodlolover, I do have melatonin supplements that I'll be switching to pretty soon. As soon as my chemo exits my system. I need my sleep now to recover and be ready for surgery. How many mg of melatonin do you take and how long before you go to bef
-
hi colly,
I'm from February thread. But I did have 4TC. Like others have mentioned, drink at least 2 quarts of water daily to flush chemo out of your system. Walk as soon as you can. Eat every 3 hours, small meals. You may not have an apetite nor tastebuds but eat anyways
-
lordhelpmetoo - I take 6mg of melatonin and 250mg of magnesium along with 50-75mg of Trazodone. I take it when I am getting ready to go to bed. The melatonin helps me get to sleep (usually within 20min) and the Trazodone seems to help me stay alseep or get back to sleep if I wake up. I still struggle with sleep the first night after chemo but this regimen is definitely helping!

poodlelover, thank you for your response
