Wondering if anyone has had any pain in there hand from cording? Originally I had cording pain in my axilla down to my wrist. This has since subsided with the help of my pt sessions. All of a sudden my hand seems to have thick like structures in between m thumb, index and middle finger. Is there anything I can do to make it better?

HI YNotM! First, we want to welcome you to Breastcancer.org. We're so sorry for the what you're here, but we're very glad you've found and joined our community.

Sometimes cords can continue all the way down to your hand. If it helps, the Axillary Web Syndrome (Cording) article on the main Breastcancer.org site includes more information on this, and tips on managing this condition.

    Hope this helps!

    Best wishes,

    Hi YNotMe!

I had the same problem for years only my pain is more from my elbow down to my wrist.
They called it cording, but after years of being misdiagnosed - my oncologist figured out it was brachial plexopathy.
In other words - permanent nerve damage caused by excessive radiation.
This might possibly be what's going on with you. Research it and see if it sounds familiar.

    Hope this helps.
