Post-op excisional biopsy

Hi all!

I just had an excisional biopsy done yesterday. Is it normal to expect swelling on the whole breast? My breast seemed to double in size after the biopsy!

Any response would be appreciated.

I had a core biopsy and I felt like my breast did get larger after the biopsy

Swelling is very likely with an excisional biopsy.

I had an excisional biopsy about 6 years ago and the breast swelling afterward was a little less than the swelling after my lumpectomy a month ago--when they took out twice as much + did a sentinel node biopsy--but it was still quite significant. I remember that ic and Advil were my friend for several days.
