Thanks for reposting that video, badger. I love it so much!!!!!!
Yes, Claire is correct, being more fit gives us the opportunity to do more of the things we love and really enjoy life RIGHT NOW! Plus we really do look better too with all that blood circulating & freshening our skin, plus muscles weigh more than fat, so we look thinner & can wear smaller sizes than what our weight might suggest. PLUS, we can eat food!!!!!!!
I had fun subbing today. We were covering Texas gaining their independence from Mexico. Since we were in San Antonio last fall, I could regale them with stories of the Alamo and all the other things we learned as well. (I got a chuckle when one girl asked, "Are all of your vacations, history vacations?").
Another long doggie walk and yoga tonight.
-
Awesome, Badger!
Thaaaaank you!

Didn't get my morning walk before work. I stayed in bed a little too long then DD#2 texted me to call when I got up. Saw it after I got out of the shower and dressed. Still had to put my make up on. I think we talked for 20 minutes. What a great way to start the day😀 Love that girl. She turns 19 on Sunday. Not sure what she wants for her bday but she mentioned going sky diving (again- she went last year for her bday and graduation). She has sun an adventure spirit!
Tired tonight. Going to try getting in bed after the news. Was going to do work tonight but just played on the computer. Brain is not functioning to write reports...so will probably have to do work over the weekend.
Once visit for Friday got rescheduled by once for a chemo patient. They put me down for next Wednesday. Trying to see if they have anything the following week when I'm on Spring break..if not I'll make it work. I have a team meeting at the time they scheduled me but I'm sure my boss will understand. But so far we are playing phone tag.
Sweet dreams

So I got all that great exercise, came home, had a little supper, showered, read to my little one, fell asleep with him by 8:45, roused by 9:15, came to bed. Woke at 12:45 by hot flash and wicked tinnitus. So much for exercise helping with insomnia. Had a Lupron shot two days ago, so perhaps seeing increased effects.
Karen, thanks for sharing positive experiences with your DD, who is the same age as my oldest. Mine is "home" for spring break. Haven't seen her much, and I'm feeling a little bad about it. Though I totally understand I still want her to spend some time with us...
-
Finally got back to classical stretch this morning. Felt good! No time for a walk today, and our long driveway is pretty treacherous so just as well. Come on spring! Off to hear Shemekia Copeland at the Wolf Den tonight. She is a blues singer I have not heard before, but friends rave about her, and the Wolf Den is free!
-
Pat, our local radio station plays Shameikah Copeland often and I like her stuff. Will there be dancing? That counts as exercise!!!
-
Sneaked in half an hour of toning & lots of puppy walking.......dogs are great exercise!
-
Badger, I loved the video. I watched it this morning and felt so motivated I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and then later in the day I took a 30 minute walk outside in the sunshine. It felt great because it was only 40 degrees but very sunny. Now I just need to play the video every morning to keep me going.
Ruth, such a cute grand-puppy. Those youngsters will keep you young.
-
Ruth, LOL on history vacations. History is all around, if only we seek it out. Stella is getting big!
Busy day, got out for 20 min walk. Pedometer on the dresser, will add today's steps to next post.
coffeelatte, Falconer, everyone: That's what this thread is the best at - support, motivation & fun! ♥
-
Ruth: I want your grandpuppy!
A beautiful day with a Carolina blue sky and highs in the 40s made my walk/run fabulous. Then I ate a hotdog at a fundraiser dinner which I greatly enjoyed eating.
Three weeks and and again today someone I know died from bc. The first one was a childhood friend. The second woman was a previous co-worker at the hospital where I worked. It went fast for both of them. This makes me very sad and also scared.
-
crazy busy trying g to catch up at work before vacay. Tuesday was 45 minute body sculpt and 30 minute brisk treadmill walk. Tonight was body sculpt and 35 minute walkrun
Off to New Zealand tomorrow afternoon!
Sleep well my sculpted sisters😴😴😴
-
Welcome to all newer members of this thread. Sweet, have a terrific time in New Zealand and I dream to visit - lucky you! Cheryl, thinking of you and and here is a hug.
Been a long week and sunny, blooming, gorgeous spring climes in my part of the world. Off in a bit to meet up with my girlfriend on platform 5 for the 8:45am highspeed into London to attend BB #76 quarterly at Pure Gym and afterwards to Lululemon on Regents Street to poke around. Tomorrow, back in London for last weekend of Pilates course and for my final practical assessment. Three weeks from now, submit my 25 page case study and completed. I've enjoyed this course, incorporated so much in my lesson plans and ready to move on.
Have a super weekend everyone - let's keep at it!

Would have worked out yesterday but I slipped on my icy steps taking the dog out yesterday morning and I was limping around for a good portion of the morning. Luckily I grabbed the railing as I was falling and only tweaked my left foot. Didn't do any damage but hubby told me to stay off the foot yesterday as much as I could. So I will work out today instead in amongst getting housework done and cooking dinner
-
Safe & wonderful travels, Sweet!
Wonderland, if only your DD & my DS would fall into our plans and marry each other, we could co-grandparent the puppy (who is an absolute doll!) . So sorry about your friends. sending a hug. We all get scared when things like that happens.
Did 45 minutes of toning, a little dancing online, walked the dog and will be doing that again before the day is over. It is a cold and very windy day, and somewhat icy as well (I'm trying to not slip like you, Mommy, too easy to do! Yikes!).
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
-
Mommy - yikes. Glad the damage seems minimal.
Great to see everyone is keeping so active!
I've been pretty good about keeping up with exercise. Spent the day Monday with a friend at Mount Vernon, George Washington's estate. It was wonderful plus I got in lots of steps. Cheryl - I thought of you and the fun day we spent there a few years ago. Ruth, as our residence history buff you would absolutely love it. You need to come back to DC!
-
Thankfully no ice on the stairs today
-
Wonder, sorry about your friends.
70 something today and tomorrow supposed to be 80. We are so dry and no sign of any snow or rain in the next week or 10 days. I think it's become sandal season!
Have a good week-end
-
My goodness take a little time off and you come back to have pages to read..... My friend went back to the UK so last week was out to eat every night to say farewell to different friends and his family and I think I put on 5lbs with all the eating ughhh but this week I've been good and gone back to the gym. LB last saturday I went to LA and did 3 AIM2 and 1 IT filmings and I found out you can do what you want at an AIM, the Body Pump guy did 98 thru 101 but the Combat and CX both did the upcoming new releases and I also did Sprint - CX was last and I could barely lift my legs to 90 degrees by the end of the day. Mary I loved our day at Mount Vernon such a beautiful place. Sweet I know you'll love NZ. Ruth Stella is looking beautiful, looks like she has her winter coat, I am dog sitting an English Bulldog for a week, he is supposed to be very "chill" and they told me he sleeps 90% of the time but so far he's ripped up 5 boxes and was trying to eat the cardboard. Has been lovely here but they say rain again next week and the temperatures will plunge but probably not as bad as you poor mid west/east coasters.
-
((Wonderland)) so sorry about your friends.
Bon Voyage, Sweet! Always wanted to visit NZ.
Logging 17,512 steps = 8.25 miles since last post.
-
Wonder, I'm sorry to hear of your losses; there is no end to heartbreak. I see you're in NC. Were you acquainted with Nina Riggs, a writer whose work I cherish. I know NC is a big state.
Mommyof2, how are you feeling after your fall on the stairs?
I've noticed some of you have had DIEP recon. How did you feel when you returned to exercise
This week has been a difficult one for me. Lupron shot 5 is really making my head ache and keeping me from restiing well. I'm still heading to yoga this AM.
-
Ok. Nothing is hurting today
-
M0mmy, glad you are feeling better. Hope you got a lot of pampering while you had your foot up.
Cheryl, good to see ya!
Gloomy day but not cold. Have car-based errands to do but will get in a walk sometime today.
-
No pampering. There was no one around to do that. Just stayed off it as much as I could.
-
housework today and then walking. My knees have been given me a really hard time but trying to keep going and going...will probably go for a swim tomorrow.
-
Took advantage of a sunny day to takean hour walk around the community. So sad to see all the spring flowers that came out early then froze during the storm. So many pretty blooms turned to brown mush.
-
Wonderland-so sorry for your loss!
Mommy-glad you are ok.Zumba this morning. Great workout butI am feeling so sluggish; I really need to get back off sugar. I feel so much better when I am off it. I sleep better and have much less pain. Just need to get my mind back in the game.
-
Just finished watching Villanova get beat by my Badgers in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. Wisconsin either plays Florida or Virginia round!!!!!!! On Wisconsin!!!!!!
Gonna go work out as soon as I get off here
-
M0mmy - Hi, there. Around here (greater Cincinnati/N KY) NCAA March Madness is very big. Glad your team won! We are following Xavier, Univ of Cincinnati (Cincinnati), Univ of Kentucky (UK) and Butler. Other teams in the area (Dayton and Northern KY) are out of it after yesterday. Now, about that exercise . . .
-
welcome CeliaC and Go Badgers!
Headed out for a walk now. :-)
-
Wake Up Yoga this morning (and I do mean wake up......I cut it so close that I either had time to comb my hair or brush my teeth....the teeth won
). The sun finally came out late this afternoon so it was finally actually fun to be outside. I walked with the grand-puppy, my friend, and her two dogs; so it was a pretty lively affair!
