Carol and Tammy - great news from you both! I'm so looking forward to seeing you in Canberra :-)
Karen - I love your ring, what a great present to yourself, and a wonderful symbol to enjoy the rest of your life.
All's good here girls, apart from nearly melting from the heatwave we've had. I know a lot of other places have been hotter, but a week of 38+ and then two days of 41 nearly did everyone in here in Canberra. We just aren't used to that sort of heat. I have aircon - but it really struggled at times.

Cool change came in yesterday and it is wonderful!! We were much the same sort of temperature range as you Trish and because we have had such a cool, wet summer it was a little trying to say the least. Isn't it mad that our normal summers are that hot for much longer and we get through with out whinging.......lol.......just goes to show what a body can get used to.
On Saturday my DD's treated me to a gold pass movie........they chose "Lion". What a fabulous movie! I wan't sure if it was a movie I would enjoy but I was really impressed with the way the story was treated. It's a true story and very sad in parts but has a great ending (or beginning)........highly recommend it if you're looking for something to go and see.
The quilts are getting done slowly but I now have a couple of weeks where there is not much happening so can get stuck in.
Take care all and enjoy the cool change!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Yes Chrissy and Trish we had a similar weekend here in Bendigo just horrible I haven't exercised and feel wiped out from not sleeping properly, Than god ww are back in the high twenties. Had to laugh Chrissy I have always thought the girls weekend was in Feb 😜 Bone scan and tumour marker blood test on Thursday then Oncologist following Wednesday so feeling good about it
-
Delvzy, keeping everything crossed that you get a good report from you onc.......happy that you are feeling good about it.
Nope, the girls weekend is definitely the last weekend in March.......lol......but I hear you on thinking one thing when it's actually another.
Take care and enjoy the cool change.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Karen ..Woot Woot ..I love your ring 😊

Hi girls! Count down is definitely on for the get together in Canberra and the excitement is building.
Remember that I said I was working on a couple of quilts? Well here is the first, ready for quilting.
Thankfully, Aly has consented to show me how to machine quilt when she arrives so that process will be much quicker. I can't wait to show the second which is well on the way.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

All good news guys on blood tests and bone scans cancer markers gone from hundreds down to 37 bone scan showing healing mets and very stable to some areas showing little cancer mets at all . Signed off from oncologist for the time being and just going to his nurse in 8-9 weeks
-
Thanks Delvzy. Yes I saw an Amish quilt store when I was in the USA and you are right, their work is exquisite.
Woohoo on your good results.......actually, very good results! Absolutely fantastic news!.
Heading to Adelaide in just a minute to catch up with my sisters and then I'm going to meet up with Jenn for dinner. She is in town for her work so taking the opportunity to say hi.

Hi all
Good news Delvzy.
It's been 5 years today since I was diagonosed with breast cancer. All though I've had bowel cancer as well in those 5 years I am feeling good and positive.
Lovely quilt Chrissy, I'm really looking forward to meeting you all as well.
Carol

Congrats Carol on your five years!! You've certainly faced your mortality in more ways than one and am so glad you are still around to be congratulated.
The second quilt is in process and this pic is the transformation of a nine patch block becoming something else.......lol. I think it will look okay when I have completed it.
Hopefully my niece will like her pink quilt.
Love n hugs all. Chrissy

Hi girls I don't know whether any of you can help me but I have tried to amend my signature diagnosis several times to show my initial diagnosis plus reoccurrence. Now the latest reoccurrence is correct but my initial diagnosis has dropped off to just show DCIS not IDC and ILC as previously di
-
Sorry Delvzy on that one.........maybe pm the Mods and ask. They'll know for sure.
-
Wow, some great news all round! Delvzy, I am very, very happy for you.
-
thanks Tammy
-
Hello out there.....
How us everyone going
-
Hey Tammy! Right now am at my DD's house in Adelaide so I'm close to the airport to pick Aly up in the morning!........yipeee! Let the fun begin!
Can't wait for Thursday next week when Aly and I set off on a road trip to Canberra........not long now!
Hope you are well, I can't wait to see everyone!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi the boards have been very quiet . I am going well healing mets in ribs which are a bit painful which Chrissy said is a great sign woo hoo. So wish I was going on your trip, . I could have if I had realised it was March not February.😥Enjoying the sunny but slightly cooler weather here in Bendigo
We are looking at an 11 day cruise next May from Rome to Venice with lots of small interesting ports in Croatia,Greek isles including Sardinia and Malta/Sicily , it's a sure sign I am getting better if I start looking at overseas holidays. When I was diagnosed with bone mets last November I had no idea I would recover so quickly and be back at work part time 1 month later be running 2 months later and planning long term overseas holidays 4 months later 😀🌴
Has anyone else cruised the Mediterranean?
-
Delvzy, I'm sure we can accommodate another if you want to come and if you can get there. Back in the planning stage I'm sure there was way more on your mind hence the mistake in thinking Feb not March.
So glad to hear that your life has some semblance of order.........in the beginning it's really hard to think that that would happen at all. Long may it last and just keep getting better for you.
-------------------
I'm sitting in my DD's lounge just waiting for when it's time to go to the airport to pick up Aly........ .I'm so excited, just like a kid before Christmas! ......lol.
Take care all. Love n hugs. Chrissy
-

-
Delvsy ..So great to hear you are feeling so good !!!
Chrissy ..Have a great time with Aly 😉
-
Delvzy, sounds like a wonderful trip. I've not done a Mediterranean cruise yet but I'd love to hear tips and see the photos.
My dragon boat club is off to Florence next year for the international breast cancer competition so we'd like some advice on after competition activities.
-
-
Alyson ..Hi !! What are you and Chrissy up to ???
Tammy ..I went out on the Dragon Boat here at Bribie Island ..Thought it seemed lots of fun ..But I was worried I would never get the timing right ( even though the ladies assured me it takes a while ) so didn't go back ..I was also a bit worried how I'd go with all the early morning training sessions !!
-
Hi Lucy! Aly and I have been checking out the Antique shops here in Burra and chatting......a lot!........lol. Either later today or tomorrow we will take a tour around in the car so she can take some pics of the little stone cottages, bigger houses and our community buildings as they are quite different to the ones in NZ.
-
Tammy Florence is great . Did a Tuscan tour last time (just a bus day trip) and just wandered around Florence getting lost, Chrissy you girls keep having fun, Burra must be quite old looking forward to nice pictures of stone cottages 😎
