Special diet for TNBC?

Just wanted to share this link that was forwarded to me this morning about reducing the amount of methionine in our diets; wouldn't this be wonderful if we could reduce the # of TNBC diagnoses through diet?http://www.jeanlamantia.com/special-diet-for-triple-negative-breast-cancer/
I've been working with Jean for a while now and have made tremendous strides in feeling better. As many of you know, I've had ongoing health issues from my xeloda (capecitabine) experience; I'm thrilled that I'm finally starting to feel better. I hope this link helps someone here. Be well!!

Glad you are doing better now.
Thank you very much for sharing this, Jacklin.

Wow, now I'm more confused that before! I eat quite a bit of food with that methionine and I'm not happy to hear it could be bad for my (mostly) triple negative breast cancer. I eat nuts because I'm not a meat lover. So, to eat nuts or not to eat nuts? To actively avoid methionine or not!?
That is the question!

I have been looking at some of the methionine content tables of foods.
This table here indicates that cashews and pistachios have appreciably less methionine content than the other nuts listed therein. It also indicates North American wild rice is pretty low in methionine.

Yes, if you cannot eat meat -- I cannot either, except for a little fish on occasion --, you have to eat something else.
Jacbowden, are you familiar with the North American wild rice? Most of it is grown in lakes in Minnesota. Some people say it is a nut as well as a grass seed. It would not be good to eat raw, nor roasted. It works well in soups and in casseroles.

At these links is some content relating to the wild ("black") rice and its possible benefits with breast cancer, including TNBC.
