Ripping my hair out.

I wrote a post a few days ago about all the pelvic pain I was having. Long story short, I am STILL having it. I was hanging in there patiently and waiting for my oncology appointment which was suppose to be tomorrow when I found out it was cancelled by the provider and moved to JUNE. After lots of cussing and tears I made phone calls this AM and I am now in my PCP office waiting to see her PA. Now, not only am I having pain, I can feel a slight rise below my ribs on the left side and something that feels like a lymph node or a nodule. When I push on that area I feel pain where my left ovary should be?? I am also having other digestive issuses. I've not eaten since yesterday at 2pm. Officially freaking out.

PA sending me to the ER because I'm having "referred" pain. When she pushed on different areas of my abdomen the pain is oncentrated in the left lower quad.

Thank you. I had a CT of the abdomen and pelvis. The quick read was fine. So nothing ominous, but still no answer as to why I am having so much pain and discomfort. Probably IBS.

I have attacks of IBS every now and then. It involves cramps, gas, and diarrhea, and they can be exacerbated by diet. (I once mistakenly ate a lot of cabbage during an IBS episode -- big mistake.) The problem with IBS is that there is no test for it. It is diagnosed by symptom and by tests which eliminate other possibilities. Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you! A clear CT definitely gives me peace of mind.

Brightsky, since you had a CT and it revealed nothing cancer-ish, this might be irrelevant--but generally speaking, you can't really push on your abdomen where your ovary lives. It's too deep within the pelvis. If the pelvis is a bowl, the ovaries are in the bottom of it. When a gynecologist feels the ovaries during a physical exam, she has to manually push the uterus up from below to reach them with her other hand.

Random factoids--a pregnant uterus doesn't grow out of the pelvis until about 12 weeks. About that time you can begin to feel a small dome right behind the pubic bone. At 20 weeks, halfway point, the dome is at the level of the belly button.

    How I ramble. Class dismissed.

Glad the CT was clear. It is frustrating to have no answers for pain though. I do definitely hear you there.

Sbelizabeth, Thank you for the interesting ovary factoids! I guess the reason I attribute a lot of this pain to my ovary is because it is focused in the same area where I used to feel ovulation pain. I have other episodes of dull pain that roamall over, including my back and flanks. So, now I'm guessing it is GI related. It was interesting that no matter where she presssed on my abdomen, especially upper left quad, I felt the pain in the LLQ. I was also very tender around the belly button. So, today I have not eaten much. Appetite is off. I'm feeling twinges of discomfort as far down as the groin area, but the actual pain has calmed down a lot.

Kbeee, it is frustrating indeed and mentally I can't let it go while I'm still having symptoms, Especially since it will be 3 weeks Friday.

    Brightsky,

Not to gross you out, but what have your stools been looking like? Mine are pale when I have a bout of IBS. It freaked me out at first because pale stools are also symptoms of liver problems. But, once the pain stopped, my stools went back to their usual brown. Sorry, if this is TMI!

No it's fine :-) I've been feeling more constipated or that my BM was not complete. No change in color, just not as formed...I guess is the best way to discribe it. I am in pain as I type this. I'm sitting in the car waiting for my daughter to get out of school. The pain in below my right ribs now and goes around to the flank area. It's kinda dull. I'm feeling twinges in the left lower quadarant. It's definitely aggravated by being in a sitting, more scrunched up position. The fact that it pops up in different locations makes me think GI. I didn't get oral contrast, just IV. I wonder if that would have revealed more...

Brightsky, with the presence of flank pain, have you (or your doctor) considered a kidney stone? Usually they're excruciatingly, "can't sit still" painful, but it's a thought.

3 weeks ago I had an episode of pretty severe pelvic, flank and leg pain. My husband mentioned K/S, but I think that would have showed up on CT. Today the pain is mostly in the very low left quardrant and radiating to to outter aspect of my left leg. My final CT report has not made it to my health portal. ER doctor told me to F/U with my PCP today, but I could not get off work without advanced notice. I work in a busy clinic and it would have been impossible for my coworkers. So I'm waiting on the final read. I will then message my PCP and ask for a GI referral. I think I need a colonoscopy. Maybe a gynecologist. I just don't know. But I'm so busy with work that I can't just run around to doctors. That's why I'm so pissed that my oncologist moved my appointment to June without even calling me when SHE is the one that wanted me seen every 3 months because I'm triple negative. I do appreciate your suggestions, and if I find answers, I will definitely update this thread.
