Tamoxifen troubles. Help!!

Options

Hi there,

I am reaching out in the hope that someone can share their experiences with treating Tamoxifen induced Atrophic Vaginitis! I am now 40 years old (still pre-menopausal) & have been taking Tamoxifen for 7 years to keep my ER+ breast cancer at bay. At my last visit with my ONC she suggested Ovestin Cream & that it was relatively safe to use. After reading the leaflet inside the box, i'm a little nervous to use it.

Has anyone else used a topical Vaginal Oestrogen Cream post BC successfully? Are there any non hormonal treatments that have helped?

Thanks 😊

FWIW, my oncologist is okay with vaginal estrogen creams. She say the estrogen is topical and not much absorbed. She works at a teaching hospital and is quite conservative in her approach.

Im very late in your game. Searched atrophic vaginitis and you showed up.. OMG! I have tried three different OTC things. Did a little more research, voila! Atrophic Vaginitis. I know Tamoxifen is keeping me cancer free for at least as long as I am taking it. I'm too scared to stop taking it. I was stage 2a invasive lobular. ER & PR positive. I just hate that it has so many crappy side effects.
