ok i had breast cancer 4 years ago and it had spread into 4 lymph nodes, well i had a pet scan last week and my dr called and said i need an ultras sound on rt armpit that the lymph node looks borderline, so i have that tomorrow, but i am wondering will it reacurre in the breast also or can it only be in lymph node?

    I am so sorry you are dealing with a doctor call. Everyone's worst nightmare.

    An Ultrasound or any other (PET) scan cannot diagnose cancer so your doctor is saying that a lymph node may look different than a normal one does, but that does not mean it is cancer. Breast cancer can recur anywhere in the body...locally in the same breast, lymph node, or any other organ (mets) or bones. Only a biopsy will determine if it is something simply "odd" looking or if it is actually cancer.

    It can recur in breast, lymph node, or anywhere. Hopefully the lymph node is just a reactive node, swelling for some other reason.

    cajun - When you can, it would be useful if you go to My Profile and fill out your original diagnosis and treatment. I'm pretty sure I posted on another one of the threads you started.
