Hi All,

I am a 36yrs diagnosed in September 2016- I had surgery first clear on the sentinel lymph nodes and in the midst of TCH chemo - not sure about radiation yet. I did get what they call "clear but close" margins with a skin and nipple sparing mastectomy left side.

Would love to hear long term survivor stories that did chemo after surgery?

Thank you in advance

    HI Susan,

I'm not sure if I can say I'm a long term survivor yet but I'm certainly getting there ! I was diagnosed Oct 2014 , I had Paget's disease ( misdiagnosed as dermatitis for over a year ) my biopsy also said I had DCIS , however , after a double mastectomy a 5cm tumour was found that hadn't shown up my mammogram or ultrasound ! I too had clear but close margins . I had chemo 6 weeks after my mastectomy followed by radiation . This is actually my first post on here . My tumour was her 2 positive est neg . Hope this helps a little xx

My treatment is slightly different, but I think it's worth sharing here. I was in a trial where I got herceptin and perjeta ONLY before surgery. And it totally shrunk my tumor! Then I had BMX. Then I had chemo -- taxotere, herceptin, perjeta every 3 weeks for 6 rounds. Then herceptin to finish a year. I am almost 1 year past chemo, and SO FAR, SO GOOD. I was 39 at diagnosis.

Susan - someone else started a thread that is almost the exact same question. ER/PR - and HER2 +. You might want to "search" because many of us have posted there. That way you will see a bunch of answers.
