Taxol, Herceptin, and Perjeta first. Who else?
I just had my first chemo yesterday. I am having the Taxol , Herceptin and Prejeta first. Who else has chemo this way. I see most have had the AC treatment first.
I have questions for those who did the treatments this way.
Thanks in advance

I did exactly what you are doing during the fall. I have started radiation in January. I hope you are doing ok.

I think you'll find that many of us have had neoadjuvant TCHP (Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin & Perjeta). Since I didn't have a complete response with that, after surgery I had AC.

I will have the AC treatment immediately after this treatment. Before surgery.
Did either of you lose your hair with this treatment?
Did you get sick?
Did you work the whole time?
Please don't feel you have to answer my questions, but if you want to please do.
Thank you in advance

TCHP was first line prior to surgery and rads. I did have a complete response....and, finished with Herceptin to total a year. How are you doing?

just started yesterday. Right now I'm doing ok! So you handled things ok? Any major side effects?
Thanks for answering

shelabela - I've anwered on a couple of other threads where you're posting similar questions.
Did you join a February chemo group? You will find that useful. Also you may want to read selections from the January chemo group.

Here's the link for the February chemo thread

Thank you! I see you answered on both. I will check out the other thread.

I had neoadjuvant chemo, starting with 12 weeks of Taxol, Herceptin and Perjeta. That was followed by AC. During THP, I started losing my hair at about week three. My scalp became itchy and uncomfortable, so I ended up getting a crew cut shortly thereafter and that made me a whole lot more comfortable. THP was not that bad in terms of feeling icky and most people are able to continue working. Most of the stuff I experienced was a nuisance more than a huge quality of life issue. Feel free to ask me anything you like. I am about seven months past chemo and surgery, on Herceptin maintenance, and feeling great. Bonus: my hair has grown back and is fabulous and super soft. :-) Best of luck! -- Julie
