1 year after double mastectomy and weight loss a lump found

Options

I am so scared. My 34 year old daughter had dcis a year ago and had double mastectomy. No radiation or chemo. After 1 year post surgery she had weight loss surgery and has lost 135 pounds. She sees her oncology radiologist every 3 months and he does a clinical breast exam. She went today and he felt a lump in the non cancer side. He didn't notice this 3 months ago. He is sending her for an ultra sound on Monday. Does anyone know or have heard of anything like this?

    Dear calif2005,

Welcome to the community. We are so sorry for your worry for your daughter. While none of us can say what this could be it sounds like she is doing all the right things to get an answer. The waiting and uncertainty with any kind of breast change especially after a prior diagnosis can be so stressful of everyone. We are hoping for a benign result for her. Please keep us posted. We took the liberty of deleting your second post as it was the same as your original and we were thinking that perhaps it was an error on your part. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you to navigate the boards. The Mods

Sorry, I haven't experienced this, you must be so stress for your daughter. Maybe the weight loss reveals scar tissue previously masked by the extra weight. I by no means have any idea but I'm sure there are plenty of benign explanations. Although, I can relate that our minds always seem to go to worse case scenario. Hoping she is fine.
