    Thanks SuperSurvivor

I have 2 whole breast and 6 boosts left.

Have you all been able to exercise during rads. I have walked some, but once I got the rash, I haven't.

I just finished 25 times of radiation. I have used a lotion several times a day during the hole time. It is a bit red but no big discomfort.

Regarding exercise this is my big agony subject. I just can not make myself move around a lot. I guess it might be some kind of depression, like to stay in bed all day if I can and I feel guilty about not exercising since I know it is important. I see other cancer patiens jogging, even running marathons etc..I am happy if I can manage to walk to the grocery store...maybe this might help a few people not feeling guilty...but I am...I am not doing any type of excersise at this point. I know it is not a good thing at all.

    Hi everyone

Congrats to GermanGirl and Kattis for crossing the finish line!

Everything is uneventful re: rad recovery. Shea Butter in the morning and Coconut Oil at night. One boob is starting to look like the other again (if you don't look tooooo closely). I saw my MO this week and they said my lungs sound clear so good on that. I have been spending more time stretching and upping my level of exercise-trying to avoid any fibrosis.

Kattis and Postive2strong I wouldn't worry about your exercise-you will get there when you are ready. But I think it is always good to do a little something every day.

My next decision is on Tamoxifen. My MO was not recommending that I take it although they said it would not be "unreasonable" if I did. So wtf! I guess I need to figure this out on my own. I see the numerical benefit, know the potential side effects. I asked for a prescription but I haven't filled it. I will flip this conversation over to the tamoxifen thread but thought I would mention it here.

    Hang in there everyone.

    Congrats Kattis and GermanGirl!!

Keep going strong with the oils and lotions and whatnot. I'm nine days out and can tell you it is true what they say about the rads burn hitting its peak AFTER treatment ends. 14 days after my last whole-breast treatmentwas the worst for me. I have a reddish-bruised-looking triangle under my arm that drove me to ibuprofen and frozen vegetables that one day, getting better now.

My last five treatments were boosts, but it seems the only area of my skin to be having any trouble is right in the axilla. Sea buckthorn oil has proven more soothing than the emu oil, perhaps because it doesn't soak in as quickly but stays glossy and reduces friction. Smells and feels wonderful.

High-fives to all the recent grads!

Thank you. I bought some sea buckthorn lotion after reading your post before and I love it. Yes, the women at the radiation clinic mentioned that the effect will continue after the radiation, they did not however mention it was going to be more sore and as you have noticed so have I, it is getting more sore than during the radiation a week after. Thanks for letting me know it might get even more irritated a week from now. I was just wondering about this so glad I checked in. My skin is a bit rougher than before and "pulls" a bit more. So far nothing I can not deal with.

Exercise Exercise...still lazy here. I did book an appointment with my psychiatrist to perhaps get some help with combating depression in order to get out of bed and start putting on my walking shoes. I am so grateful for this board. It does help a lot.

Exercise is hard to start but feels so good afterwards. I've had several times of couch lounging where I FORCED myself to get out, even for just 20 mins. I promise you will feel great and in control!

I'm starting week 5 with session 23/33 tomorrow. I've really had very few skin issues so far but keep waiting for the shoeto drop. I've had some fatigue, but I think the exercise helps with that as well. I did catch a darn cold this last week, but regular cold medicine is helping. I also have been having some discomfort in my lower left abdomen, and I got a CT scan last Friday. Results will be back Tuesday. Fingers crossed and hands folded for nothing too serious. 🤞🏻🙏🏻 Take care, ladies! Here's to a successful week of treatment and healing ahead

Congrats ....German & Kattis...woohoo...ready to move on.

Exercise has not been easy for me but when the sun is out I try to walk a bit. Being at work 3 days a week I am on my feet and busy ...I do well but by 3pm I'm poop. Next week I'm 4 days a week...yikes

I was so excited to find out today that my 6 boosts are only to my tumor field and not the full area, only 4 more treatments on my clavicle and then the skin can start healing! Made my day.

    Thanks all!

Elizabeth- totally making a shirt of that! Might need to add child birth and marriage to it though...wonder what else?

Okay, FYI other lumpectomy ladies. Mammograms will always say probably benign because of the scar tissue. At least that is what I was told this time since the last one didn't and only had confusing medical terms that I didn't understand. Breathed a lot better after that appointment

    23/23 finished today!

I feel so fortunate that I was able to get my treatments at a stellar facility just a few miles away, and the doctors, nurses, and other staff were incredibly accommodating, kind, and helpful when I'd arrive yet again with a pile of paperwork I needed assistance with.

This board has been SO helpful as well.... I could come here to ask questions, thrash, bitch, despair, cry.

Besides the intense fatigue, I got hit with nausea and anorexia, which everyone told me (including the nutritionist) doesn't happen. So I imagined it???

Still not sure about the Tamoxifen issue. Going to give myself a few weeks to get my energy back. and then I will give it a trial.

((hugs)) to all who have completed their treatment, and those still in progress!

    Carrie

Fotheringay.... Congrats on 23/23.... Woohoo 🎉 Doesn't it feel good. This site has been a blessing through this battle....anorexia....I was not struck with that ...instead I gained weight during the steroid faze of chemo never to lose a single pound since even when I barely ate. I hope you start to feel good soon.

Elizabeth ... Love it ...you are a Super Woman

Today is #27/33 for me - only one more full treatment then five boosts. I'm getting a bit redder and the area gets tight sometimes. I do get a tired spell in the evenings, but that's about it. I'm still working full time from home (have been able to stretch during day, put on lotion, and not wear bra, which has helped). I'm focusing on getting to 75g+ in protein, drinking water constantly, and working out about 6 hrs a week (right after treatment at the same center - very handy). Can't wait to be done!

I got my CT scan back yesterday tho they said it'd be ready two days earlier. Good news - all's quiet on the abdomen/pelvis front. This of course was great news and put my mind at ease, but I'd still have liked to know what was causing two weeks plus of lower left abdomen pain. Oh well, maybe it's just those chemo healing pokes/prods.

Have a great weekend, ladies! I'm keeping you all in my prayers!

Just finished 28/34 full breast and clavicle. Only my chest area is burned and my nipple is darker but not burned. Under my arm held up well. Had the blocking done today for my 6 boasts that start on Monday, this will be to the tumor field only so hopefully the neck and chest will start healing.

Kshorten, I think we'll both be finishing on the same date - March 13th? Are we the last ones of the January rads or is there anybody else scheduled still after March 13?

Here's where I'm at today... They are doing the blocking today for my boosts next week, too

SuprSurvivr - Yep looks like we're on the same schedule. I finish on the 13th also, I'm just so glad no more radiation to the neck and I'm so glad I didn't blister yet so they could finish up today. If the boob gets redder it's much easier to hide. Good luck on your last 6!

Dang, kshorten! That looks uncomfortable. My rads burn peaked 14 days after the last whole-breast treatment, so keep soothing that skin!

(I used emu oil and sea buckthorn oil, found the sea buckthorn more soothing when the rash was at its worst. Highly recommended, in case you are considering new options. Emu oil soaks in more)

Tunegrrl, oddly enough it really doesn't hurt, it itches more then anything. I do have the emu oil and the sea buckthorn oil that you recommended and I'm going to start using it. My RO asked me to wait until after this last clavicle treatment to start using it, so I'll start tomorrow. The other is, I have an olive complexion so my skin is pretty dark to start with. Just praying for no blistering. Thanks for all you advice on the oils, I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
