integrative care in Ontario

Has anyone on this forum had experience with the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre? I'm looking for advice around nutrition and supplements mainly and am considering a teleconferenced consultation with one of their naturopaths or nutritionists. I'm in Southwestern Ontario, and I don't know of anyone local who would be helpful.

Recommendations for other naturopaths in Ontario would be appreciated, as well.

    Hi Lisa,

    I know this isn't exactly what you're asking for, but have you considered Jean LaMantia? She's a registered dietician and has a great book "The Essential Cancer Treatment Nutrition Guide & Cookbook". She's also available for consults, by phone in your case. I am currently working with Jean to help me with post-xeloda issues and she's been exceptionally helpful for me. Jean's is very easy to talk with and explains things really well, as evidenced by her book.

    Hi Jackie,

    Thank you for this recommendation. At this point, I am open to meeting with a dietician, as well. Personal testimony about someone you have worked with is exactly what I am looking for.

    I have an appointment at the OICC the week of August 21, 2017.

    I will let you know my thoughts and first impressions when I get back. :

    I live 2.5 hours from Ottawa so I won't be able to use all of their services but we do not have anything local.

    I had a consultation with OICC before my chemo started last Oct. I was too far away for other treatments but wanted to some holistic help during chemo and radiation. I found them helpful. Locally I also went for acupuncture and osteopath during treatments but I have been doing this anyways, just added more appt.
