Off to emergency room. Must have jacked my rotator cuff again. Throbbing, stabbing pain and can't move right arm at all. No sleep at all last night. Even cannabis couldnt help with pain and sleep 🙁.

    Prayers appreciated!

Prayers Lita. I hope you got relief from your ER visit.

Yay Shep. Lover, thank you for letting us know.

Ok any Chicago ladies out there, just want to tell you that you made NHK World News out of Tokyo, Japan. Apparently, in the 146 year history of keeping track of your weather, this is the first time ever that no snow has stayed on the ground for the months of January and February!

Oh goodness, Lita! Hope it can be fixed with a steroid shot. How did it happen? So sorry.

Kath, crazy weather here in California too. Per DD, Southern Cal got some unusual torrential rain last week. They don't have as many storm drains as we have up north so lots of street flooding. Last Wednesday afternoon Mitzy was acting strange when I let her out to potty. After she did her business she quickly ran up to me wanting to get back inside. Normally, she would walk around take her time sniffing and looking for squirrels. As soon as we got inside, the wind picked up and hail came down for nearly 3-4 minutes . DD2 was fascinated with the ice marbles on the ground and went outside to take pictures afterwards . As soon as she opened the door, I could feel the cold draft coming in. What was interesting was it was quite warm prior to the downpour.

My Sister brought the wet weather with her from Florida when she moved back here. Anyway, here is a most recent picture of my niece.

Susan and Ms. S, your turn.

Oh Susan, I forgot to respond to your question regarding our Europe cruise. We are going on the second week of June. Want to join us? We will visit Netherlands, Sweden,Estonia, Russia, and Denmark. Wish we could go in early April or late March for the tulips show, but kids are still in school :(

Woke up by a skunk having left a very smelly calling card in my neighborhood. That is one rude awakening I could do without. None of my furbabies were involved, thankfully!

rotator cuff calcification and major tendinitis. So painful. Oxycodone doesn't even touch the 24/7 constant throbbing pain. Icing every 2 hrs. No sleep for 2 nights even with MMJ!

please keep praying. Pain brings tears, and I'm usually pretty tough 😥. Very limited range of motion. I have PT exercises to start when pain improves.

    This totally sucks.

Lita - I'm so sorry your hurting so much. Praying that you will get relief soon. Any chance massage would help? Hot water bottle? Bio-Freeze gel?

I think I mentioned how much pain I'm having in my right hip and the S.I. joint in the right side of my pelvis. Well I had a CT scan last Friday and results show no lesions, just osteoarthritis. Hurts like crazy, and will see chiropractor in the morning. Massage therapist is booked until April.

Susan - I hope you get over the flu quickly.

Lookie - Are you healing well from surgery?

    Kirby @ Training Camp on Sunday-Feb. 26.

I have not heard anything further from Shep. I hope she is home and healing well.

Hello to everyone else. Have a good evening Ladies.

    Shep thinking of you.

    LIta take care.

Susan there are a few nasty bugs going around, my husband is recovering from a head cold and laryngitis. He is very chatty and has had a difficult time talking for a week

    Junie, Kirby is looking adorable.

Surgery went well . They sent me home almost as soon as I came out of recovery, I was very woozy , but that is slowly getting better. I am a little sore , especially in the tummy area from the fat grafting, but that will improve over time. Glad it is finished .

    Hey Ho!

Got home yesterday afternoon, PTL! Vision is way blurry still so sorry for any mis-types

    Important stuffs 1st......

LOOKIE! Glad you are at home and that all went well. Sending healing thoughts to both you and DH to be feeling better soon. Ooooh the sore tummy. You should stay in bed with a heating pad and good book until it heals :(

JUNIE!!!!!!! Been thinking, praying and worrying 'bout you. It seems awful to say I am relieved you have osteo.......but I am..... Tractor Supply and Amazon both carry Absorbine Veterinary Liniment Gel - works nice on sore joints. I think we each have our favorite supplements..... I have Osteo in my right foot that is so bad I would not be able to wear shoes, never-mid walk if I didn't take Celadrin. Marti takes it too :)

Surgery went better than the surgeon expected. My blurred vision is temporary until my brain swelling goes down. Head still hurts pretty bad, that will fade too. It had seemed pretty certain that I would loose some peripheral vision. Surgeon had to stop himself from giggling like a schoolboy when I passed his vision test. He was happily surprised and I was too! I go for a followup with my team next week and will also meet the RO who will zap the rest of the buggers with the Gamma Knife in 2 weeks. Only have to get zapped once - yay.

Trip to and from hospital was an "adventure". FFH had actually done vehicle prep and repairs the weekend before - he usually waits until it's time to leave. The van keeps burning through alternators - FF had replaced it yet again. It started dying about 10 miles away from the hospital. Once we parked, it was dead. Because the van is a mini RV it has a back-up battery. FF was able to get it running again to go to the auto parts store and do some repairs before we drove home. I didn't care - I was in my comfy bed sleeping!

Hospital stay was a nightmare. There were no open rooms when I came out of surgery so they kept me in the recovery area until about one or two a.m.? surgery had been over with early in the afternoon. I had gone over my meds with everyone several times prior to admitting. And it all got mucked up. FF and I kept repeating over and over that I can not take opiates as i become violently ill and do not get any pain relief. So of course I was pumped full of Dilaudid . Worst part was being so overwhelmingly nauseous and being transferred up and down in the elevators to go for an MRI at 4 a.m. I was seriously terrified I was going to choke on my own vomit in the machine and no one would notice. Never been so scared in my life - and I've done done some scary chit! FF finally convinced them to stop giving me the damned poison. Next issue was getting my regular pain meds. For some reason the residents were in charge of patient meds....and they were not well versed in common sense. My nurses were all fantastic and fought like heck to get my meds straightened out. Unfortunately it took until 2 a.m. Sunday! So I had brain surgery without any pain relief for most of my hospital stay. There will be some asses chewed next week.

The hospital has been fantastic about home/aftercare. I had a home health aid over today - very nice lady - and she will check in on me 2 or 3 times a week. Another lady is coming in the morning to put together a physical therapy plan. She was very nice on the phone and is excited we have pets - always a good sign!

DS works nights and slept here on the couch while FF went to work. Marti was so happy to have her boy home.....she kept smacking him in the face with all her favorite toys :)

Thank you all so much for your kind words of encouragement and your prayers. I wish I could put into words not only just how much you all mean to me - but also how the power of all the pure kindness, compassion, bravery (and humour!) of this Sisterhood lifts me up and gives me strength time and time again.

I love you, my Sisters ❤

Blessings to u SHEP! What a nightmare...no pain meds for hrs. Happened to me 2 yesterday in ER. DH had 2 keep buzzing them.

Praying for u as u get PT. I'll have 2 have a little less than u, but now that I'm older, this rotator cuff shiz is going 2 take longer and be more gruelling. But nothing compared 2 what u are dealing with, my dear.

Here's hoping we can sleep well. Haven't had a decent night's sleep for 3 nights because of this damn shoulder. I've had shoulder problems b4, and when they return they are usually worse.

Take care, and thrilled things went well.

Oh Shep what a terrible experience. Thank God it is over. I so hope you will be feeling some recovery by the time you read this.

Lita please God you get some better pain management. Have you got a health professional in charge of this? The Irish system is different so I do not know yours. Don't type an answer if it is hurting you to do so, I am really just wondering out loud and hoping that there must be someone on your team who can give you some relief.

Shep- so glad to hear from you and it sounds like the surgery was highly successful. I have some peripheral vision issues from something else and have had to teach myself to really look around because I tend to leave things behind because I don't see them out of the corners of my eyes. I hope your blurriness is gone soon and glad you are home resting comfortably. The hospital experience sounded horrendous......

Lita- I am sorry you are getting no relief with this shoulder pain. Can you get in with an orthopedic?

Susan- not a patient person either, cancer taught me that the body surely does have it's own recovery schedule.

Sending all the sisters here who are struggling much love today

Shep, It just occurred to me that it would be a good idea to print out a sign that said NO OPIOIDS in very large letters and have someone pin it to your gown. If nothing else, it might make someone read your chart to see why not. Your MRI experience sounds like torture. I had an experience with cough syrup where it loosened all the gunk but prevented me from coughing. I thought I was going to drown. Haven't had any since.

Lita, I hope something can be done to control your pain. You'd think they could tape it to prevent motion, at least. I hope you're able to get some sleep soon.

hi everyone. Been busy getting ready for last trip to Seattle. Then no more until June.

Shep, when I go in they always put a red band, like a name tag that says I have an allergy. Kind of thought all hospitals did that. Sorry your experience so suck, I was hoping that you had great docs like this.

    Or, remember him?

Junie (I think) asked about curved piecing. This is a cheater was to look hard but very easy to do. No curved piecing. One part is a little bigger on one edge to overlap, then you cover with bias tape. Easy-peasy!

Lita, hope the shoulder feels better soon.

Lover, have you heard from Chevy, she's too quiet.

    Looking, are you done now?

I got to vacuum today, 😜 It's been 5 weeks, I'm doing good. Saw the PT last week. She was surprised how well I was doing and healing. The scaring seems to be getting better, been using Mederma. Anybody use something for the scars? It's never going to be pretty, I wanted to be able to swim, some dog ears but not tooooo bad.

Us Sac girls need to get together soon. Maybe next week?

    Hope everyone else is ok.
