Co Pays and appointments
I'm just diagnosed with IDC i have never been more lost in my life. I am a single mother working my butt off to make ends meat and BAMMM BC hits me like a line drive out of left field. I don't have the co pays or the 4000.00 out of pocket deductible to pay for this. I gave my rent money to get the Biopsy. I am a mother of 5 children I only have one left in the nest 13 yrs old. How can i feed him and pay bills and pay to stay alive to raise him? Anyone know of any help? PLEASE I'M DESPERATE!

Laurie,
Cliff's suggestions are great, also talk with a social worker at the hospital and oncology office. They can help you or point you in the right direction

Look into your states requirements of the BCCTP( Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program) that is a federal program administered by the states. If you qualify (income based), they will pick up your copays and deductibles AND if you pay an insurance premium, they may even reimburse you for that premium. They will even reimburse you for stuff for which you've already paid. Just do a search of BCCTP, and you might also discuss this with your MO's office.

Laurie, my doctor referred me to this program https://www.copays.org/ . This charity/program helped me pay my deductible and copays. My doctor had to fill out a form and submit it for me, detailing my diagnosis and treatment plan.

United Breast Cancer Foundation has an individual grant program.

Someone on a BC Facebook group that I'm a member of gave me the links to these programs that offer financial assistance. She has received assistance from all of them during her treatment. I don't qualify with my husband's income plus mine.
www.thebreastcancercharities.org This organization accepts applications between the 1st and 5th of every month. They don't pay medical expenses, but will pay creditors directly for rent, mortgage and utility bills for three months if you qualify.
www.thepinkfund.org Provides up to three months assistance up to $3,000
I don't qualify for any of these programs, but maybe you would.

I just want to say THANK YOU so very much for you all responding to me. I have been on so many BC sights and no responses. I was feeling lost and left out in the cold all alone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Clift ,123JustMe, Cive, Kcate2013, Icietia ,SSNewbie.

You are welcome. Hope you've found what you need to pay for your treatment.

So far I have received no help and I have asked. I will keep trying. Thank you.

I have been denied help also. According to everyone I have contacted my husband's income is too high for me to receive any help. However, before my stage 4 diagnosis I was a nurse who contributed half of our family's income. Now I get disability, which is minimal and my husband has to financilly carry the whole house. I don't know how they expect us to survive. I constantly hear how breast cancer groups are getting a fortune in donations but we breast cancer patients qualify for none of it. I don't know what we are supposed to do. Pay our medical bills and live in a cardboard box? Not only do we have to deal with the fact that we are dying, we also get to worry about sending our family's into financial ruin. If anyone has a solution I would be grateful to hear it.
