Does weight loss make "Unilateral Life" easier......

....hi, I'm a Uni. I bought some corn starch per your suggestions and it's worked well so far in regards to my "sweaty, good breast." I also bought and wore a sports bra for one day and it hurt the next day. My "good breast" is a size D., and my right side is concave. I'm also working on trying to lose weight.

    It depends a lot on a couple of things:

    1) How much of your remaining breast is breast tissue and how much is just plain fat. Breast tissue doesn't often shrink that much during weight loss, but fat usually does.

    2) How your particular body loses weight. Everyone loses weight differently. Just for example, in my case, when I lose weight, I lose it in my stomach area and lower legs, but never in my butt/hips, thighs, or--when I still had them--breasts. For me, it didn't matter how much weight I lost and, at one point, I lost about 90lb, but was still a stubborn DD. I lost weight pretty much everywhere but my butt/hips, thighs, and breasts. Even though I had a 24" waist, I still had nearly 40" hips because of that! Made for a good hourglass type shape, but not so good for finding pants that actually fit!

    If you're overweight, weight loss in general will likely help with your overall health, but there's no guarantee that your breast will change size.

    Ravzari: thank you. When I lose weight it starts at my face, Lol, and then slowly works it's way down. I've already started to calorie count and my tight sweat shirt seems to be slimming down a wee, tiny bit in middle.

    I just joined a support group on-line called "Flat and Fabulous." There are uni's like me and BMX's like you. May I share your answer with that group? Because I posted the same question about losing weight in there too.

    Here is a pic of me on my weight loss journey., slow and steady. :) Thanks for your help.

    I can't believe I actually e-mailed my doctor to ask her my fat vs. breast tissue ratio? Lol! I crack myself up.

    My doctor just responded: Every patient is different and there is no way to know what your percentage is. Good answer. :)

    Amapola36: Thanks for the weight loss info. If I choose to do a breast reduction/lift on my "good boob" ., right is flat, my plastic surgeon said if I lose weight, it still won't make it perky or uplifted to avoid my problem with sweat under my breast and rashes in the hotter climate. (which is causing me the most grief)

    I wanted to see if others had any other "unilateral" weight loss stories.

    I just started calorie counting. I wouldn't be interested in a cleanse, but thanks for asking. :)

    I'm using cold compresses when I get a rash under my "good boob" and corn starch to keep it dry per suggestions on this forum. I feel it doesn't hurt for me to be at a healthier weight before and if I choose surgery. I like your first link (500 calories for 2 days a week only) and find it kinda doable for me because I've already started to calorie count.

    This is not anout weight loss but what can work great for keeping skin issues down in areas where 'skin touches skin' (under breast/under belly) - H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide).

    Wipe the area with a pad moistened with H2O2 (then 'pat' it off) daily to prevent fungal infections (or more often if redness/odor presents til gone). I had 2 C-sections in 11 1/2 months, years ago, and no matter how thin I get (actually too thin can make it worse the older I get), there is a small area along scar where skin does touch skin so with sweating it would be a prime area for fungal issues if I didn't wipe with H2O2 daily.

    Just a thought that might help.

    Maybe I'm trying to hard to find an easier way to care for my "good boob" to avoid another surgery.

    My plastic surgeon wants to do a breast reduction and lift. I might have to face the reality in what my plastic surgeon said: "Even if you lose weight in your "good breast," it won't help the sagging that gives you sweat and rashes."

    Pabbie, unfortunately your PS is probably right.

    Losing weight may make you lose volume in your remaining breast, but it won't correct the sagging; the only thing that will do that is a lift (and possibly a reduction, depending on how large it is), assuming you don't want to have it removed.
