Hello ladies,

I have a mx / direct implant reconstruction scheduled in 2 days...and I feel a cold coming on. :( I am praying I feel better over the weekend, but not sure what to do... I left a message with my reconstructive surgeon's office letting them know I feel under the weather. I really want to have my surgery on Monday, everyone in my family has scheduled their lives and time off work around this date.

Does anyone know if I'm allowed to have surgery if I have a mild cold? I don't feel seriously ill, just low energy with a mildly sore throat.

My parents are supposed to travel into town on Sunday to help out with my daughter, and I've booked a nonrefundable hotel room for them. And my husband went through lots of paperwork to get this time off approved by his job.

My surgical pre-op packet says if I am ill, surgery will be canceled. But I just had a nipple delay procedure 10 days ago, and my breast surgeon had explained that it is all timed out very precisely.

I don't know what to do... please advise. I look forward to hearing from any of you! Thank you!

I think you've done the right thing and put a call into the surgeon's office. Maybe call again so you can get a return call?? Or try calling the BS's office since you left a message for the PS. That's so frustrating- hoping it's just allergies for you and you can move forward!

Thank you ajbclan! Luckily I'm feeling ok now, not great, but hopefully still strong and healthy enough for surgery. Hoping all goes well.
