My PS wants me to do this do to my large slightly sagging breasts. In all of my research and consults no one but him has proposed this as a solution to keeping my nipples and moving them higher on the breast mound. It involves taking them off completely during surgery but also grafting them back on during the same surgery. Apparently this works most of the time however some of the downsides are potential for a flat nipple, a nipple that loses its natural color and breast with less projection. Have any of you tried this procedure? In looking into it I have read that it's really done anymore but this seems to be the only way they think they can save my nipple and have it in a good position during reconstruction. Dr. says I have "level 2" ptosis

I have no personal experience. However I have read on these threads that one PS took a crescent shape out of the breast above the nipple to raise them up higher. That wouldn't involve removing the nipple complex and trying to re-graft them higher. Maybe that member will post.

Yes, ideally The plastic surgeon would like to do something like this however because of my larger somewhat sagging breast size he is not sure there will be adequate blood supply for the nipple to survive that way and therefore the only other option would be to remove and replace the nipple via the free graft
