May is my month
and I feel like postponing it to another month. My anniversary is May 9th, Mother's Day is the 10th and my birthday is the 25th. I can't taste. I'm often tired and get grumpy. I can't thing of anything I can do to celebrate. Meal out? Forget it. It all tastes horrible.

I am not sure what stage of treatment you are in but try to find something that does appeal to you to treat yourself.
Maybe a reflexology session / face massage - healing session (just for the relaxation).
Maybe a new book or some music you would like to own.
A visit to a museum or place you have wanted to see.
Maybe a visit to a social worker or psychologist if you need some help dealing with everything.
And maybe a rain check if you aren't feeling well enough to go out - write yourself an IOU that you will go out and have fun when you are feeling stronger.

I was in the midst of chemo for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Nothing tasted good, and I wasn't up to doing much cooking or shopping or anything else, really. I get how you feel for sure. About all you can do is acknowledge that yeah, this year it will suck, but you can make up for it when you feel better, do something nice then. And as hard as it is to believe right now, over time the memory does fade.

that reminds me I am lucky, after mastectomy and a bunch of lymph nodes, my treatment is tamoxifen with an exgiva shot once a month. a few side effects, but not that bad.any idea when you are supposed to complete treatment?

My husband takes me shopping at a nursery for Mother's Day. I spend hours wandering amongthe plants imagining how beautiful my garden will be instead of imagining how terrible cancer is.
