Thought I felt something in skin

Options

Right breast, the one with the original problem. If you had a skin recurrence, can you tell me what it felt like? I thought I felt something tonight but when I checked again, nothing. Then hubby felt it and thought it was subcutaneous but not hard, he thinks nothing. I haven't felt it in the past. See my MO Feb. 27.

Scared of course; so sick of being scared.

Have not had this (just fat necrosis which is stable) but wanted to suggest you call for an earlier appointment - with an internist or gynecologist if MO has a full schedule. End of the month is too long to wait when anxieties are present! Could it be scar tissue? Maybe you can get some imaging like mammogram or ultrasound done so the onc will have more info by the time you get there...

get checked by a doctor as soon as you can, no need to worry if its nothing, and early detection is so much better than too late.

It's more ripply, not organized, and a larger area, not hard or round like the first one (which I felt because it was nearly under my armpit and I could feel it because I'm thinner). Think of corregated metal, but soft. Like those anatomy drawings of muscles. Hubby can't really feel anything and thinks I'm hyperanxious simply because I've been much more anxious since 11/9/16, and now heading toward my regular 5 month check up I always get more anxious. That's true.

No ability to move an appt up unless I want to see a new onc. and I don't want to do that, so I'll have to sit tight. I was hoping someone would weigh in on what their own skin or other localized recurrence felt like. My surgeon is skilled and I trust him that he got as much breast tissue out during my BMX as possible.

I wonder if I'm feeling my pectoral structure? I hope someone can tell me what their local recurrence felt like...Thanks to you two who responded...

I'm fairly small breasted and can feel my pecs and ribs when doing self exams. I'm also very lumpy and bumpy. Years ago my breasts were so firm I couldn't feel all those distinct things.

Still, I suggest you ask your PCP/GYN to request a diagnostic mammo. This will give your MO something to review with you.

That ripply skin feeling is what I have due to scar tissue and pec muscle tightening. My recurrence felt like a frozen pea. You can always move your appointment up if you have concerns. It's so hard to know what'd "normal" when really, what is normal anymore???
