Hardening of Tumor/Lump after Core Biopsy

Hi All!

I have been looking around here for a while, this seems like a wonderful community.

A bit of background: I am a 28 year old woman. Just had my core biopsy 2 days ago to investigate an indeterminate lump that measures 1.2x1.2x0.8cm. It is lobulated and has heterogenous echogenicity so my surgeon recommended that we biopsy. I should also note that I'm currently living overseas in Singapore-so navigating all of this away from home and in a foreign medical system only adds to my overwhelmed-ness!

My question is this: Is it normal to feel a significant hardening of the mass that was biopsied? My lump was palpable prior to the biopsy, and felt firm but not hard. Now the lump feels very hard and almost sharp to the touch. It's also more painful, but I was prepared for that! I'd love to get some feedback to see if hardening is something anyone else has experienced.

I will get my results tomorrow in person from the surgeon. I'm feeling grateful that I don't have to sit by the phone and wait (sending hugs to anyone who hasn't had a known date/time of receiving their results).

Thank you in advance!

Yes, totally normal. It's basically swollen. It's odd because before that I couldn't really feel the lump, then all of a sudden, I could feel it.

Thank you for your responses! Exactly, it's strange to go from not being sure if I could feel the lump to it being very firm and hard!

After my biopsy I had a little hard lump too. .My surgeon said it was just a hemotoma , and it disappeared over a few weeks ..
