Partially under muscle?

hi there,

I have prepectoral implants and have quite noticeable rippling (especially on top and sides). I found out after my reconstruction that having prepectoral implants was very forward thinking and I came to really appreciate it, however, rippling is making me feel incredibly self conscious and would like to fix it. My talented surgeon is suggesting putting implants partially under muscle (top portion) on top of fat grafting as a solution (and maybe choose different implants which may ripple less? - I currently have moderate profile gummy bears). He thinks I don't have enough fat (but I think I do) hence this solution rather than just fat grafting like I have seen others do. Has anyone else had this done (partially under the muscle)? I'm just concerned that I may experience discomfort not to mention animation deformity (I understand this is an issue for some who have subpectoral implants).

I hope I can get some input from some of you out there! Thanks much in advance.

Hi, Hopeful07, I saw your post on my Thread about Prepectoral Implant Reconstruction. I am sorry you didn't get the look you want yet. I had fat grafting 5 times. I lost quite a bit of fat to 2 severe infections, but enough stayed so that there is no rippling at all and you can not see my implant edges even slightly. I think that a bit of fat grafting is a necessary component of Prepectoral Implant Reconstruction. That seems to be the case with almost all of the other women on my thread who also did Prepectoral.

Hope you get it to look like you want, or close to that soon. We all deserve beauty and comfort.

Thank you for your comment, macb04. I want to look normal and want to rid of these noticeable ripples but am concerned about discomfort (not necessarily for recovery but permanent) and animation deformity.

Does anyone know of anyone who has their implants partially under the muscle (i.e. top portion only).

    Thank you much in advance!
