Good day am feeling very distress very anxious.

My story I had a biopsy with a core needle of my axillary lymph node and a breast lump

Fast foward 6 weeks I still have swelling in my upper limb limb only my arm

My breast surgeon told me lymphedema is unlikely to develope after such a procedure.

Went to lymphedema therapisr yesterday that made me feel worst she told me yes my arm is bigger on my left by the most 1.5cm at the point closet to my shoulder my forearm and hand is smaller on the left

I have no pitting and she did another pinching test which she say is normal

Another concern is that my left and is my non dominant hand and my swelling doesnt resolve with elevation

Now she wants to review me in a few days am do depress?

What do you guys think is it too early to call lymphedema ?

Is it possible to havd lymphedema in my arm no swelling in my arm or forearm?

How long should it be before all post op swelling settles down?

Why on earth can't anyone say what's wrong wrong with me

You have had a cancer scare, so your emotions are running high. You are lucky in that your results came back benign. No one here can tell you if you have LE.

From reading your posts, arm swollen by .3cm, arm doubled in size, top of arm slightly swollen, the emotional pain being worse than the physical pain etc, it seems to me that you are looking for something to focus your anxiety on.

My personal opinion is to speak to your doctor about treating your anxiety. Good luck.

I am going to be flying in March and don't know if I am suppose to wear a compression sleeve.  I have never been diagnosed with lymphedema but every once in a while it get swollen around my elbow.   Does anyone have any suggestions or comments?

I would request sleeves as a precaution.

You may want to start this in a new thread with your question in the subject line to get more responses.💞

You should have been measured for a sleeve & gauntlet before your surgery. Get measured now, and if you can’t be assured your compression will arrive before your trip and you can fit into an off-the-shelf se, order a set online from Compressionsale.com or LympheDivas—put a rush on it. If you have private insurance rather than Medicare, you can probably get one set covered if you go to a vendor that accepts your insurance. Medicare doesn’t cover it.

But how long is your flight? Both my surgeon and my LE specialist say it’s unnecessary for a flight shorter than 4 hrs. (I play it safe and wear compression for any flight longer than 3 hrs.).
