Anyone with cysts and lymph nodes?
Long story short, my left breast has bothered me for months. I've had an MRI which only showed several cysts and enhancement of the left nipple. My doctor told me don't come back you're good. So I have spent the last few weeks ignoring the breast. Well, I woke up with some soreness and touched the area beside the breast down from my underarm and there are several palpable lymph nodes and one huge puffy one the size of a quarter or larger. I did not realize they were there because I've been trying to ignore the pain and swelling in the breast because my doctors have made me feel like I am crazy. Now I'm worried again. Has anyone had lymph nodes pop up with cysts? I don't want even know what to do because every time I go to the doctor they act like I'm crazy.

Scmommato3: Sorry you are still worrying. I know you've started several threads since the first of the year. It would be better if you stick to one thread so those people who have read & answered your posts could follow - and so the rest could know the back story.
I can't remember what tests you've already had, but I do remember that your docs all said you did not have breast cancer. It's really hard to come up with a thought when each thread gives different info. If you have a PCP or GYN that you trust, why don't you make an appointment with that doc to discuss your worries and to get some anxiety meds. If you don't trust any of your current docs, please look for one that you can be comfortable with.

I have an appointment Tuesday with a primary care doctor. The lymph nodes weren't there when I last had a breast exam.
-
Glad you called. I hope you will continue to have no evidence of breast cancer.

Hi. I just wanred to ask if you drink caffeine. That can cause issues. I hope the new doctor figures it out for you.
-
Hi and thank you for the response. I have quit drinking caffeine and started juicing every day and I can tell a huge difference. I can barely feel the cysts now but the breast is still noticeably bigger than the other and I'm still having a lot of pain and keep finding more lymph nodes.I don't know what to think. I hope my doctor is able to help me.

Scmommato - it will take a number of weeks if not months for your body to be completely free after the deletion of caffeine. Let us know what your doc says next Tuesday.

Hi Scmommato3! I'm the one with cysts and lymphnodes, and scared as well. I'm waiting for my cycle to get an MRI, as the doc said it would be only informative during 5-13 days of the cycle. I will really push for PET/CT though, as these lymphnodes are driving me crazy now.

HI Scmommato, I am so sorry that you are still having these problems up to now. I remember you from your previous posts. I have fibrocystic breasts and the radiologists found several small cysts on both of my breasts. They are causing me pain esp during and right after my period. I also quit on the caffeine and that is so hard to do since I love coffee and chocolates! But what I noticed is that ever since I stopped on taking in caffeine, my breasts are not that painful anymore. I dont have problems with swollen lymph nodes though. Hope you find the answers to your breast issues soon.

RNstrong thank you for your support. I am amazed at what a difference it has made to quit the Pepsi and juice regularly. I used to have a huge area of thickening that my doctor called fibrous tissue. It was really big like the size of a golf ball or bigger. but not round. It has almost completely disappeared. I just don't understand where these lymph nodes are coming from if there's nothing in the breast. I don't feel anything in there anymore where I used to feel the cysts and fibrous tissue, just the lymph nodes. :

just thought I would update that I've seen my doctor and she ordered a whole slew of bloodwork. They took 11 capsules of blood and did an ultrasound of the lymph nodes she felt in my groin. I'm very impatiently waiting for my results. She thinks I may have lupus or another autoimmune disorder and that my breast problems are disconnected from what other problems I'm having. I hope she is right
