Hi! I have never posted on a blog but was searching for some input. I was dx with IDC a year and a half ago. After my MRI they found another spot, DCIS and on my other breast they found LCIS. I haven't been sick with the flu this winter but have found a lymph node behind my ear / jaw that is enlarged and has been for at least a month. It's only on one side , it's firm and doesn't move. I had a double mastectomy and my lymph nodes were negative. Is it possible to have the cancer bypass the sentinel node and go to the neck? My Onctype was a 6. A little worried. I've lost my dad, mom and step dad to cancer over The last 6 years. My stepmom is in remission for bc. Thank you for any info! God b

    Kerilee - Hopefully it's just the lymph system handling a regular infection, but I would make a doc appointment to check it out. I had a BMX with clear nodes and two years later I had that they're calling a 'recurrence' in a lymph node under my collar bone.

    Thank you for your response. I'm hoping that as well and hate feeling paranoid especially since I haven't even had a sniffle this winter! I was feeling pretty icky this past late summer and fall. I had a CT AND BONE SCAN done and they came back negative. Do you know if a CT with contrast will pick up lymph nodes are do you need a PET scan??

    Kerilee - I would start with a doc doing a manual exam. He or she will be able to point you toward further testing if needed. Try not to go down those roads before it's necessary.
