Everything is Good - Update on Me
Hello Everyone
I have been absent lately and sorry I left a few hanging with my vertigo issues. I had a chest/abdomen CT scan at the end of December and I am happy to report I am still NED (8 1/2 years strong) Great news as I start year 9 next month. I never got my vertigo checked out. After i experienced it, I ended up with a horrible head cold and once the head cold went away the vertigo has mostly subsided. Occasionally I slightly feel it but is considerably better. I am blaming it on my ongoing sinus issues and have not pursued a brain MRI as it is apparent it was directly related to my sinuses.
On a different note, I have started dating a really wonderful man. I have known him for over 30 years as I worked with him two employers ago. We have always stayed in touch. Three years ago he lost his wife to lung cancer. She went to my oncologist and we would often be at the infusion center together. He and I have always met for lunch at Christmas time. This has gone on for the last 20 years only as friends. This year was a little different. He told me he was trying to online date and had not very good success. He ended up asking me out and our friendship has grown into a romance. I have already directly asked him if he felt it very risky to be dating someone with stage IV cancer especially after losing his wife. He said he gave it a lot of thought and none of us comes with a guarantee. He could get diagnosed tomorrow as could anyone. I honestly have never been treated so well in my life. So I am pretty darn happy right now.
Love to you all.
Jen

Thanks for the update Jen! I have been wondering how things came out. Congrats on the romance! So happy for you!

Wonderful news for you, Jen! I don't know which to say first...on almost 9 years, or finding love!!! Happy for you on life's continued blessings. I haven't been on for many months, but scanned yesterday and still stable, about to start a trial of vaccine & turkey tail tea. I hit 4 years as stage 4 in Dec.

Jen, Congratulations on both. That is awesome. I hope NED stays with you along with the new romance in your life. Love hearing positive news.
-
Great news! I'd been concerned about your vertigo and am very relieved to hear it was just a cold. And best wishes for your new gentleman friend!
-
Lovely bit of good news Jenin, so nice to read. Congratulations on your 8 years NED, long may that last, and good luck with your new romance and long may that last too
-
Jen,
Thanks for the update. Glad your worries proved to be unrelated to MBC and big congrats on almost 9 years of living well. Best of all is this long term friendship morphing into romance! I still say love is the most powerful drug of all. Your pm should give others hope and encouragement that wonderful things are still possible, even after being dx'd with MBC.

Double good news! So glad your vertigo is not cancer related. My whole family has suffered from vertigo at some point (except for me), and they all say it is awful. Very happy to hear about your relationship too. May all good things continue to come your way!
(Also - good to hear from you too RonnieKay. Glad to know things are going well for you. Keep us posted on the trial)

Jen,
I'm so happy for you! Enjoy!

Very happy for you!!! Being NED so long is amazing. As for finding someone, wonderful news. Sounds like a great connection between you two.
-
for the double joy, Jen!!
-
wow! What an awesome post!! Ned and love! Is his name Ned? Because that would be a little freaky
-
Jen, I am glad to hear the vertigo seemed to work its way out. Your new relationship development is super nice to hear. Wow, how life keeps us involved with its twists and turns! Continued best wishes!
-
OMG and here I was so worried about you, glad to hear that.
Never ever do that to us again.
Wish you all the best
-
Flower, I felt exactly the same as you! We get this potentially serious news just days before Christmas and then don't hear back in over a month!
I imagined brain mets, Jen so devastated that she cannot return to the forum with an update. My mind played out so many scenarios about our mets-sister. I worried about her daughters, I checked to see if there was any news every time I came online. I was so worried!
When we got the delicious news from Jen about her clean scan, the relief of her vertigo and her new love interest I had the biggest smile on my face.
Isn't it interesting how involved we become with each other when we're all dealing with the same problem?
