Missing my little guy. He is away for several weeks of training for on/ off leash work as well as general house manners such as no counter surfing. I used to do all the training myself, but my PMPS has left me with a limited supply of patience and energy. Once he completes the program I will work with him in at the trainers group classes so that we continue to grow together in our communication. Wow is my house tidy - no tripping over toys and I can be at this computer without having to jump up to check on what mischief he is getting into. Quiet but lonely!!
-
is he a standard? Love apricot poodles❤ My Rooney was a mini. RIP little man. Rooney means red head in Celtic. His rescue group named him.
-
Spookies...Sorry about your loss of Rooney. I'm sure loads of good memories. I've had several great dogs I've shared my life with and learn more about myself with each of them. The standard poodle, though my favorite, is just too big for me to handle any longer. Many years ago I saw a medium or Moyen poodle and thought it would be the perfect size when I got older. Now I'm older and found my little red guy as a very young pup. Perfect with all my allergies. Your spookie is a cutie as is Kris. Kris looks like a poodle -size?? and spookie is how big?
-
You are the only person I've ever run into to mention Moyen!!!!!
Kris is a rescue so no background on him. But I'm sure he is a Moyen. He's too big for a mini, too small for a spoo. I found this on Poodle Forum, seems to fit him. If I tell someone they look at me like I'm nuts. Spookie is 8# under all that hair
-
Spookie...I see your description also used the term 'klein' - so many names for a small standard. At 9 months old mine is about 30# and 18 inches tall, so might get a bit larger as he has very long legs - just like me, but he does not need to shop for long enough pants
Lucky you finding a rescue poodle, I looked a long time for a standard poodle rescue without luck, so sought a reputable breeder.
-
JunieB: Sooooooo cute and I think s/he loves the camera!
-
I was doing chemo and was not up to dealing with Spookies hair. So sent her to groomer. When I picked her up she said did you see my foster? We had lost Rooney a few months before. Three days later Kris was ours.
He was found running the streets. Eventually groomers rescue got him. She has 2 spoos. He DOES NOT like kids, so I think wherever he was, there were kids who were mean to him. That he saw an open door and ran. He's a great dog other than the kid issue.
-
Spookie...what are spoos?
-
Spoos = standard poodles. Mpoos = miniature poodles. Tpoos = toy poodles.
-
yup!!🐩
-
Partial to Shelties, Collies, Huskies, German Sheperds and Labs!
-
I'm partial to mutts - any mutt
-
-
Spookies...I've not thought of it that way. I hear him saying why can you go inside where it is dry and warm and I have to go out in the cold and rain?
-
Good one Spookie.
-
-
Spookies...I'll pass that one along -- so true!
-
it's an oldie but goodie.
