Please Help - IBC?

Options

I have had some swelling and redness in my breast since my last surgery which was more or less diagnosed as LE. However yesterday the swelling and redness increased and is interspersed with purple - also very hot. There are ridges and pitting as well. Is it typical or common for IBC to follow another BC in my case Stage 3 ILC? Anyone?

I know you said you've had this since surgery, so I'm not sure if what I say applies really. Anyway, if you do have LE you are at a bit of increased risk for infection/cellulitis. Words you said that stick out to me are ncreased redness and very hot to the touch. Is it painful or tender? I don't want to scare you, but cellulitis can spread quick and get very serious fast if you have LE. Perhaps a visit to a doc ASAP is in order. With that said, I don't 'think' cellulitis causes pitting but I'm not sure. Have you posted in the LE forum? I know ladies have posted there about cellulitis. Hope it's nothing serious!

You need to see your doctor. If your breast is red and warm/hot to the touch it sounds like some sort of infection and needs treatment.

Thank you both for your advice. Although I've had some redness and swelling since last March, the purple patches are new. I have little pain and no fever so I didn't think of infection.

You need to get to doc ASAP because infection can be serious. If you have a fever, go to ER tonight, otherwise, call first things in the morning. Let us know how you're doing.
