Gosh, I just realized that the last time I checked in was before Christmas. Wow! The time has a way of whizzing by, especially during the hectic holiday season.
Jackie, you are amazing. You just keep stopping in every day to touch base and leave a quote. Thanks for keeping the thread going for anyone who might need a place to "land." I know it was a true gift for us and am surprised that more new gals haven't hopped on lately....because unfortunately we know they are out there.
Good to hear that all is going well with you, Lago. Also it's always good to see a post from my Redheaded friend and ChiSandy.
We have enjoyed the warm sunshine in Florida this month and have been pretty active with walks, fishing, and golfing. It didn't take us long to get settled in!
If all goes as planned, I hope to golf in the Golf 4 the Cure down here in March!
Hugs to all of you.

Do your little bit of good where you are;
it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.

Rita,
As I look out and see snow trying its very best to fall I have the descriptive, always wonderful Florida to bask in per you and long distance -- so come on imagination, kick in hard.
Good news is that what little snow ( more like a sort of mild sleet ) may fall won't do anything but quietly melt as our temps. warm a bit through the day. Not going to be pleasant and too cloudy to suit me, but we are due for about a week of this behavior. It is ( big major sigh ) winter here yet. So hard to believe we had a few near 60 degree days last week which makes this abrupt change harder to take. Well I'm sure if I look around I'll find a stride for that.
Enjoy Sunday and care about each other.
Blessings,
Jackie

The true Light is a gentle love which, rising in you,
causes you to look on the world with understanding
and compassion and respect. When you respect the
souls of your brother and sister, you respect their lives
in every way. This gentle spirit, this respect one for
another, must come. For this is the generation of
the one true Light, and this true light is that of love.

Don't let anyone else take the measure

Always stand proud in who you are.

No matter how educated, talented, rich, or cool you believe you are, how you treat people ultimately tells all. Integrity is everything.

Your worth is not measured by what you do. Nor can you calculate the degree of your worthiness by what you possess. Your worth is a function of your being. Your being is colorless, genderless, and believe it or not, ageless. Your being is worthy of honor, admiration, and respect. It is a vessel of love and light. It is a beacon of inspiration. - Iyanla Vanzant

Observing the lives of people who have mastered adversity, I have repeatedly noted that they have defined their visions, established their goals, and, irrespective of obstacles, committed themselves to their achievement. The moment they fixed an objective in their mind and decided to concentrate all their energies on that objective, they began to surmount the most difficult odds.If you acknowledge that your dreams and hopes are worth working for and focus your thoughts on achieving them, your chances of empowering your life will exponentially increase. - Ari Kiev

You are here to evolve and make your consciousness high
You are here to dance, sing and celebrate life.
You are here to help others to make their life happy.
We are here not to compete, but to learn, evolve and excel.
We are not here to make divisions in the name of prophets and religions.
We are here to encompass the world with love and light.

Here is good news to those to whom enthusiasm does not come naturally: It can be cultivated.
At first, you must consciously put your eyes, your voice, your spirit--in a word, yourself--into your appreciation of people and events and things. Do this around your home, at your work, and in your social contacts, and you will be surprised at how quickly it will become second nature. You will find yourself living in a more gracious and enthusiastic world, for your enthusiasm will be reflected back to you from the people to whom you give it. -David Dunn -
Every result you get in your life is the combination
of the challenge you receive from the reality around
you and your capacity to respond to that challenge.
Fred Kofman -
Your inner voice always knows what to do,
but it is a quiet voice.
You can only hear the whisperings of your inner voice -
your inner compass - when you turn down the volume
of your fears, your regrets, your resentments,
and the fear-based advice
your neighbors are so willing to give you.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie -
Empathy is about finding echoes of another person in yourself.
- Mohsin Hamid - -
"Life has no remote. Get up and change it yourself!"
-- Mark A. Cooper -
The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating.

Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news.
The good news is that you don't know how great you can be!
How much you can love!
What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!
- Anne Frank -
Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.
- Johann Wolfgang van Goethe - -
For what it's worth, it's never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you're proud of, and if you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start over.

The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help that would never otherwise have occurred. A stream of events issues from the decision, raising unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no person could have dreamt would have come his or her way.

Wow! It sounds as if you are having wonderful weather for Illinois this time of year! I'm happy that you aren't pushing snow and slipping on the ice. We are having a good time in FL and my kids are coming in this weekend for 3 days. I'm going to take them over to the Everglades for an air boat ride in the mangroves and grasslands. I think they will like that!
The weather has been nice and we've enjoyed golfing, swimming, boating, and fishing. The cats love being out on the lanai and all is good here. I hope that the good weather holds for you!

Sounds like you are having a great time Rita -- but I think it goes like that most of the time. Have fun on that airboat. Sounds like something I'd love too.

Yes, amazing weather coming. I remember the predictions were for a very cold winter. Keep it coming!!

Sorry, I have been missing in action for a bit. I went a bit under the weather with my sinus issues and still trying to get my sea legs properly working again so hope I can keep up. I also had 500 items coming through my mail-box all at once. Here's hoping !!!

Feel better and take it an item at a time, Jackie!

We usually look outside ourselves for heroes and teachers. It has not
occurred to most people that they may already be the role model they seek. The wholeness they are looking for may be trapped within themselves by beliefs, attitudes, and self-doubt. But our wholeness exists in us now. Trapped though it may be, it can be called upon for guidance, direction, and most fundamentally, comfort. It can be remembered. Eventually we may come to live by it.
Rachel Naomi Remen -
You are goodness and mercy and compassion and understanding. You are peace and joy and light. You are forgiveness and patience, strength and courage, a helper in time of need, a comforter I time of sorrow, a healer in time of injury, a teacher in times of confusion. You are the deepest wisdom and the highest truth; the greatest peace and the grandest love. You are these things. And in moments of your life you have known yourself as these things. Choose now to know yourself as these things always.
