Hi ladies, I was diagnosised in 2009 with stage 2 er positive breast cancer. Had lumpectomy and radiation was my only treatment. Skipped chemo and tamoxifen. Fast forward to a year and a half ago. I was diagnosised after 2 biopsies and lots of scans to have stage 3b lung cancer. Had chemo and radiation to the lung. So in August I started immunotherphyyo keep th entertained lung cancer from spreading. After being on the Opdivo for a month I remember so I felt a lump frowning just below shoulder. Oncologist said don't worry about it but I think showed up on pet scan along with a met to the bone. So had a needle biopsy 3 weeks ago to confirm lung cancer met. But low and behold it is a breast cancer instead. now my oncologist thinks that the lung tumor is breast cancer and not long cancer at alll. when my long was biopsied they couldn't decide if it was a primary lung cancer or breast mets. Have any of you had this experience. The reason they decided it was a primary lung cancer is because there was only one tumor. I am having the spot under my shoulder taking out Friday to test for hormones. The doctor says we will go straight to an anti-estrogen drug. Does this treatment sound right to you guys? Can And anti-estrogen pill help with bone Mets

HI Icey. Sorry to hear about your new dx. Will you let us know what anti-estrogen pill they chose for you ? It sounds reasonable if the personality of the biopsy shows sensitivity to estrogen, right ?

Hi Icey, yes, the anti hormone pills are very effective with hormone receptor positive BC. I have been on them since 2009 for bone mets and have been NED (no evidence of active disease) since 2010, Just because the treatment is a small pill, it can and does pack a mighty punch,

Anti hormonal treatments are usually the standard for ER/PR+ cancer........the train of thought being it's all about quality of life while controlling the cancer once mets appear.

Hoping you do well and get the right answers from the removal of that new lump.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Antihormals do sound like a common first line treatment for mets. Sorry you're dealing with this. I am sure some with more experience hay jump in as well. I do think some women get things such as Ibrance as well. Second opinions are always a good thing to consider as well.
