I had a similar status as yours: highly ER/PR + (like 1000 % it seems!) and + lymph nodes, more of them--see below. I did dose-dense AC (look it up, it's every other week and seems to be a bit more effective in some instances) and the 12 weekly chemos of Taxol.

I didn't want chemo either, but I didn't have an oncotype--not even offered it--so after about a week I could wrap my mind around chemo, and when I found all the support here I felt better. I was okay with chemo because I had 6+ nodes and was scared as hell by that report.

The experience of chemo, for me, was just plain weird. You can search my postings on these boards and read about what I went through, but I'm here, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Truly. Not like the 80s where they had no good anti-nausea drugs, etc. The hair thing was weird (falling out, growing back) but if you can afford it and are freaked about losing hair there is this "cold cap" that you wear during chemo that can keep your hair from falling out. It was too expensive for me. You order them online I think.

Ultimately I did okay, and you will too, if you decide to go for chemo. For me it was a total of less than 5 months out of my life--less than a pregnancy--began Nov. 5 and ended March 21. My hair started growing back about mid-Feb.

    Good luck, hugs

    Claire
