Thanks for the post Kasha! Chickens and chicks yes~~3 adorable chicks now almost 2 weeks old and the hens and chicks are always good therapy. Still waiting for my revision and hopefully removal of cording~~supposedly now higher up the wait list as it is medically needed rather than cosmetic but in reality still maybe end of the year.
Anyone want to weigh in on best time for our annual potluck?
-
Wow, not much action here! I have been busy seeing more of Canada. Nova Scotia for 10 days in October, home for a week and then a trip with friends to Haida Gwaii. I was gone 2 weeks with 9 days in HG after which my 3 friends flew home and I spent a few more days visiting my nephew and wife in Prince Rupert, my son in Terrace and another friend in the Kispiox. I then spent a night with Phoebe~~one of our BC/BC sisters who has a lake cottage near Prince George. I overshot the turnoff by about 30 KM and it took 6 cell phone calls to finally find it. Not only that but she met me part way up a very dark gravel road and when to turn around but another similar car came up behind me and I followed a stranger home. Ah, too much fun after with good wine, dinner and company in her beautiful place. Now to try to post a photo! Success it seems! Hmm, maybe not but will keep trying.
-
Next, another encounter with Cdn.Chick before I left for Haida Gwaii in the Costco parking lot. We talked to long that she ended up in traffic home as did I but so worth it!
I finally got a surgery date with Dr. Lennox on Dec. 12 and have been promised (as much as that is worth) I will not be bumped. Can't wait to have this cording gone which not only inhibits shoulder movement but burns down my arm front and back when I stretch it out. New implants of course too to replace the contractured ones.
As for annual get-together potluck, I would like to suggest one of the first Saturdays in January since I am having surgery in December and I hope to go to NZ in mid January as it will have been a year by then since my husband left and have only seen for two weeks since then!
-
You both look happy and great! Happy pre-holidays everyone, look forward to seeing all of you!
-
you ladies are looking awesome! Phoebe, sending big hugs and prayers that every little weird twinge turns out to be nothing. Marian, yaay for your surgery date. Fingers crossed that it doesn't shift. Beachlife - Hi! Hope all is well with you. Keep on trucking everyone! Sorry if 'm a little exuberant - chilling with my guy and a glass or two of wine lol..feeling very happy and content to have my life back hugs
-
Great pictures Marian. I followed your trip on facebook, looks like you had a lot of fun
I am good with getting together in January ( as long as we dont get a major dump of snow)
-
hello BC gals - are you enjoying the Vancouver snow?!
I got my stage 2 date finally
Jan 12 so am pretty excited to get my origami swan nipples and have the little kitten ear dealt with, but otherwise things are looking pretty good so don't know how much I want to mess about. Thanks Stellamaris - twinges seem to be nothing - tender rib spot likely where they notched it for diep. Glad you are happy and content.
Marianelizabeth - your surgery date is very soon. Sending you healing wishes and hope your stuff is finally resolved.
Sadly, I think I will miss the get-together by a week
I will be down there for a pre-appt on 10th, and then possibly staying for a follow-up the next week.
-
yaay Phoebe, finally getting your swans! Vancouver is looking pretty sparkly these days! Let me know how your nipples turn out, I am thinking about getting one instead of the tatoo. Will see my PS on Monday. Hugs
-
Phoebe, text me if you have time to meet up 😃
-
Surgery tomorrow at UBC 2 PM to change out contractured implants, cut out lots of connective scar tissue in part a result of contractures and also cording, then fat grafting and new implants. I have been on the waitlist a long time and can't wait to have this done!
No get-together until spring due to the surgery and also because I am going to NZ in January to March to sail with my husband who made it across the Pacific in November. Sailing and hiking and home for more hiking and then swan song trek in Nepal in May!
Happy holidays to everyone!
-
so happy for you MarianElizabeth! All the best for a speedy and uneventful recovery, and then a fantastic trip! 🙋
-
I hope things went well yesterday Marianelizabeth, and you are starting on the road to healing.
Enjoy your various travel adventures too!
-
wishing everyone a wonderful jiggle bell Christmas (no, not a typo, lol). MarianneElizabeth, hope you are recovering with as little discomfort as possible.
On the wait list for my final phase - fipple, tattoo and removal of kitten ears in the spring. My PS almost doesn't want to post my after pics, my new set looks so good. I even ended up with a 6 pack and in her words, one of the nicest belly buttons. Too bad it is all wasted on the 66 year old ha ha (although, if I am honest, I am loving the new look). Never in a million years thought I could go braless in a Tee. I feel like I have won a karate contest and kicked that cancer all the way down to the Fraser River....cheers and all the best to every one.
-
Happy holidays everyone - I am off work now for 2 weeks yippee! So glad you are happy with results Stellamaris -- never wasted
Hope your recovery is going smoothly marianelizabeth
-
Going smoothly if one could call it that! I did metamucil and laxatives religiously and not quite as bad this time! Now my foot/boob feel like they did 3 years ago~~for those who breast fed it is kind of like that filling and hardening filling as the baby latched on. I think it is still the swelling. I see Dr. Lennox on Tuesday but think this is going to be OK~~or at least the best it can be given Dr. Lennox blames it all on radiation~~cording/scar tissue, everything! But it is done and I bet I will get a few years out of this lot. Plus the new implants are not cold and perhaps not as hard.
-
Hi marianelizabeth - just checking in to see how your recovery is coming along [ok I won't use 'smoothly' again
)) but liked the laxative comment!! ) Glad new foobs are warmer and softer. Also, are you getting ready to head off on holiday soon?
And stellamaris - I read a book over xmas [The Birth House - great read] and thought of you - the term Stella Maris was referenced -- Star of the Sea … I had no idea. What a lovely beautiful concept
I am back at work this week only, then fly down late in day next Monday for my Tues pre op office appt and Thursday stage 2 surgery. If either or both are free on Wednesday - any time during the day [but I have evening plans] I would love to catch up. If not, I am down again later Feb.
-
oops…... I meant to add best wishes for a Happy Healthy Hopeful New Year to all of my fellow BC bcers……
-
Hi Phoebe - do you mean Wednesday, January 18? I could probably get away early and we could meet up. Happy, Healthy New Year to you too! I am on the wait list for stage 3 (new fipple in the spring - woohoo!) lol.
-
hi Stellamaris - I leave for home on the 18 Wed, so I was thinking the Wed before surgery - 11th… I will pm you
-
Don't have calendar upstairs as in bed but will check for wed.
-
phoebe:. Thinking of you today!! Hope all went well. Sending you many healing hugs. Hope we can catch up in February. You have been so thoughtful and supportive. Really have appreciated your input and advice through this journey.
-
Phoebe, hope it went really well! I saw Dr. Lennox yesterday and all is well but mx side still very hard and stiff and a bit bruised. Wish I thought about asking him to lift the augment side when he changed the implant out as of course over 3 years it has sagged to quite a bit lower. More down the road I guess! But I am off to NZ tomorrow for 2 months with my husband and though not at all ready, I will be.
Love to you all and I hope we can pull a get-together here in late March/early April.
-
marianelizabeth have a wonderful trip!
Phoebe, thinking of you and sending speedy recovery hugs.
-

Hello everybody, I am sending lots of positive energy to all of you! I have a question where would you recommend me to go for a second opinion. I had benign papilloma removed recently I have very complex breasts tissue and had some lumpectomies already with lots of Bi Rad 4 but nothing else so far and I am just considering it is the time for prophylactic mastectomy. I am not happy about long long diagnosis time here in BC and the attitude to patients I mean maybe only I am not lucky and it is my experience but we have to be strong whatever they say and advocate for ourselves. So I am working on it:-) If you please can help me. I am trying to get information where to go to really good Breast specialist, professor here in BC or USA or I dont know anywhere in Canada possibly on MSP. Will I need refferal? Do you know is Langley Breast clinic good to go for second opinion? How much would be prohylactic mastectomy if genes mutation is negative?Thank you very much.
-
Happy New Year Wendy! So good to hear from you and glad you're feeling good! Do you have a contract number for the dragon boating?
-

I'm also in Richmond, BC. Have had all treatment so far at Richmond Hospital, and start chemo there next week. Just though I would post so this thread comes back up to the top. Hoping there are others near me that will see it.
-
hi everyone - back from Vancouver -- my stage 2 went well and was relatively minor compared to what some go through - tidying kitten ears and adding 3 D nipples - I was awake and chatting with PS the whole time -- the original problem side with the central crop circle of belly skin seems to have a slightly smaller headlight as the belly skin was thinner than the areolar tissue on the other side, but still I am thrilled to have modest protrusions again … they create that finishing touch of realism instead of barbie mounds
)) and I will get my tattoos started in May - she does an initial lighter 'wash' of colour and then darkens it later to your preference
thanks for the healing wishes Stella and hoping it may work for a Feb catch up -- if not I am down in mid May. I will pm you.
welcome Zaranth and best wishes as you start your journey - I live in central BC now, but visit Vanc from time to time
Happy dragon boating Wendy3 and so glad you are feeling fit
-
Vancouver bc. Thank goodness for the speedy responses with us, mammogram, lumpectomy, and now radiation.
