Knitted knockers

https://www.knittedknockers.org/

I discovered this website a couple of weeks ago through Craftsy. They were advertising kits to make these "knockers" with soft yarn and filled with Polyfil. They look comfy. I requested a couple, but I think I will start knitting them to donate as well. I really hope these work for me since silicone is heavy and hot, and foam is way too stiff.

I just wanted to share.

They are so cute, and how kind of you to make and donate some.

I met an elderly lady who had a mx over 40 years ago. She told me they had to make their own prosthesis, balloons and birdseed apparently worked well. They were easily moulded and shaped. Necessity is the mother of invention.

That is great! It is wonderful to someone that is happy with one!

I love mine. I had a lot of healing problems after my BMX last year; my scars are really abominable. I couldn't tolerate anything sitting on my chest for the first 5 months, so I did all the scarves and jackets. Once I got where I could tolerate a lightweight bra band, I got these Knitted Knockers. They are made of baby-weight yarn, sooooo soft against my terrible scars. On days when I couldn't tolerate the bra band, I just safety pinned the knockers to a camisole with no shelf bra and away I went.

The thing that surprised me most about the knitted knockers was how my confidence improved almost immediately when I put them on. They look and feel natural, in a bra. I wash them gently in a little shampoo & water. They dry quickly. The one place that I haven't tried them is in the pool--I'm afraid they'd float out (had that happen with a bath poofie once!)

I used my Knitted Knockers for the first time yesterday. My pair is actually from a local group and they call them "Knit-A-Tit", but it's the same thing. I popped them into my post-surgical camisole, right against skin (kind of weird, I know, but I couldn't even feel them and I didn't want to try to wrestle them into the camisole on my own). Then my husband came home and took me to lunch.

We had a good time although he had to point out that one was higher than the other, so I did a little minor adjusting. Very funny!

    I'm very pleased with them.

Wearing mine for the first time today! So far, it is much softer and better shaped than the one I made for myself. I didn't knit the one I made, because I only know how to knit rectangles, but cut the molded cup out of an old bra of mine and stuffed it with polyfill. It was good to have before I got something else, but the knitted knocker is much better. I also have a hellacious scar that still hurts quite a bit.

It arrived super-stuffed. Iwashed it by hand with the polyfill in it, and it still isn't completely dry after hanging overnight. Wash without the polyfill if you want to wear it ASAP.

I will just say I personally found the knitted knockers to be too - perky? Like, it just didn't look quite right. I did however find these on Etsy and thought I'd share - she even has a swim option! Bought a set - kind of wish I had got the D's I feel the C's were smaller than normal C's.... but it has been 3 years so I may have forgotten. My thought was to sew them into a bra - Wal-Mart has one with the molded cups you can easily pull out and then put these in there

My daughter made me a pair. True to her sense of humor, they are orange with bright red nipples :D

I knitted my own, and took out stuffing each time I had my TEs filled
