Had my biopsy this afternoon.
I had my biopsy this afternoon. Now the waiting begins and I am not a very good "waiter". How did the rest of you who've been through this get past this time. I have no idea how I can even sleep at all until I know for sure.

Hi GrammaSue, I feel your pain, had my biopsy this morning (after waiting a week for that appointment) and now they tell me it will be at least 2-3 days wait. If I don't hear back by Friday and have to wait all weekend again I'll scream. Did they give you any feedback at the biopsy? I'm finding work to be the best distraction at the moment. Nights are the worst, and trying to stay away from Dr Google!

Hi! Can't sleep. I had my annual mammo on Friday 13th (whose plan was that...). Received a call back for U/S on Monday. I have 2 spots that they said looked solid and wanted to do a biopsy. However, they are making me wait for 2 weeks to meet with Breast surgeon for her to do the core biopsy. Shouldn't I be able to get the biopsy first and then meet with her if it comes back as cancer? Should I push to get biopsy sooner? Thanks for any advice

LAPM - a radiologist can do your biopsy, but you would most likely need an order from your primary care or OB/GYN, or even the breast surgeon's office.

I was able to get my biopsy moved up to Monday with another breast surgeon. That makes me feel better. This waiting is the hardest. This morning I received my U/S report showing I had 2 hypoechoic masses. One is 6 x 6 x 7 mm and the other is 7 x 3 x 6 mm. They are at 2:00 and 3:00. I have a birads of 4b. I have to admit after getting the u/s results I am getting more concerned. My sister was diagnosed at 42 and I am now 42. Plus I have 2 cousins and aunt all on my moms side that has had breast cancer. Thanks for letting me share!!
Grammasue or HCP have either of you received any results back yet?
SpecialK - thanks for the enouragement to reach out to get my biopsy moved up

Hi LAPM, I just got my results back today, thankfully it is benign. It turns out the solid mass I have is a lactation adenoma (a collection of tissue that can resemble a malignant tumour but is common in pregnant/breastfeeding women from what I have been told). Very much relieved. It has definitely been a very long two weeks from my initial ultrasound to the biopsy and then the results today. Your BIRADS of 4b makes me feel optimistic that you will also get benign results. 80% is a reassuring statistic. I don't know what my birads was, they never gave me one but it must have been a 4 for the biopsy to be ordered in the first place. Please keep us updated, and wishing you all the best for B9 results next week
