St1/G2, Er-/Pr-/HER2 (3+) and MRI guided breast biopsy

I had the regular MRI yesterday and I asked my PCP to release the record to me when it became available, which he did.

Called BS to see if she could move my appt with her to today (I'm being squeezed into her lunch time tomorrow), she says "no, keep the appt for tomorrow and the MRI shows an area that needs to be biopsied and it will have to be an MRI guided breast biopsy and earliest appt for that looks like Monday but we'll discuss in more detail tomorrow".

I am becoming so frustrated....I feel like I still have no answers, no idea how serious this is, what kind of treatment I may have to have, nothing. Feel like I'm just out here in limbo-land. I am not rushing for answers because I'm nervous, I'm wanting answers because I'm a nurse and I am so curious as to the clinical side of all this.

So far it's been "go for the mammo, go for the repeat, go for the biopsy, go for the MRI" and now "go for an MRI biopsy" and yet answers are so little.

Ugh!

    Sounds like you are getting very quick care. Especially for a Stage Ia and the Surgeon giving up her lunch time tomorrow to see you.

    As you say you are a 'nurse', you would know that every 'answer' is not immediately presented/known. You would also know that before a TX plan can be decided on there often needs to be further investigation/testing to get the best TX plan. Also that it is a 'Team' (BS, MO, RO - not to forget PS if planning on recon) effort for the TX plan for the best outcome and prognosis.

    Compared to most who post with your DX - you are being 'fast sourced'.

    Ok that is good to know, I was thinking people knew what was going on with their dx and tx in a relatively quick fashion. So I appreciate putting it into perspective.

    And I am aware of all you stated. I had a moment of frustration because I was hoping to have a lot of answers tomorrow and it does not appear that will happen.

    I stand humbly rectified. Much appreciated.

    You will/should get a lot of answers tomorrow - obviously, not every question will be able to be answered. Even being told that other 'tests/procedures' are in order for you (or anyone) will still give needed 'answers' just to get what is needed.

    Write down all the questions you have (make a 2nd copy to give to you Dr). 2 I can think of that might be in order are oncotype and genetic from what your DX is. Others will have other input.
